An old manuscript reveals that a landowner in the time of King Arthur held 3.00 acres of plowed land plus a livestock area of 25

.0 perches by 4.00 perches. What was the total area in (a) the old unit of roods and (b) the more modern unit of square meters? Here, 1 acre is an area of 40 perches by 4 perches, 1 rood is an area of 40 perches by 1 perch, and 1 perch is the length 16.5 ft.

Answer:

(a) Total area is 14.5 roods

(b) Total area is 14674.522 square meters

Explanation:

Area occupied by land = 3 acres

1 acre = 40 perches by 4 perches = 160 square perches

3 acres = 3×160 = 480 square perches

Area occupied by livestock = 25 perches by 4 perches = 100 square perches

Total area = 480 + 100 = 580 square perches

1 rood = 4 perches by 1 perch = 4 square perches

580 square perches = 580/4 = 14.5 roods

(b) Total area = 580 square perches

1 perch = 16.5ft = 16.5/3.2808 = 5.03 meters

580 square perches × (5.03 meters/1 perch)^2 = 580 ×25.3009 square meters = 14674.522 square meters

Which of the following has a natural pH that is acidic?
svetoff [14.1K]

Answer: Option (a) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

When rain passes through the air then carbon dioxide present in the air dissolves in the water. Further, this carbon dioxide reacts with water and results in the formation of carbonic acid.

Thus, the rain water becomes acidic in nature and as a result, there will be decrease in its pH.

Hence, we can conclude that rain has a natural pH that is acidic.

For a monatomic ideal gas, temperature is proportional to : the square of the average atomic velocity.
Alex777 [14]

Answer:

the square of the average atomic velocity.

Explanation:

From the formulas for kinetic energy and temperature for a monoatomic gas, which has three translational degrees of freedom, the relationship between root mean square velocity and temperature is as follows:

v_{rms}=\sqrt{\frac{3RT}{M}} (1)

Where  v_{rms} is the root mean square velocity, M is the molar mass of the gas, R is the universal constant of the ideal gases and T is the temperature.

The root mean square velocity is a measure of the velocity of the particles in a gas. It is defined as the square root of the mean square velocity of the gas molecules:

v_{rms}=\sqrt{} (2)

substituting 2 in 1, we find the relationship between mean square speed and temperature:

\sqrt{}=\sqrt{\frac{3RT}{M}}\\T=\frac{M}{3R}\\\\T\sim

Workers do 8000 J of work on a 2000-N crate to push it up a ramp. If the ramp is 2 m high, what is the efficiency of the ramp?
IRISSAK [1]

Answer:

50%

Explanation:

Efficiency = work out / work in

e = Fd / W

e = (2000 N) (2 m) / (8000 J)

e = 0.5

The boiling point of water is 91.30 °C on the
Taya2010 [7]

Answer:

196.34 °F

Explanation:

To convert from degrees celsius to degrees fahrenheit, use this equation:

(°C * 9/5) + 32 = °F

So, using this equation:

(91.30 * 9/5) + 32 = °F

196.34 + 32 = °F

°F = 196.34

Hope this helps!
