The west coast of the united states receives two high tides and two low tides of varying heights per day.  Tidal pattern is  mixed semidiurnal tidal cycle

Sun and moon exert force on the ocean due to tides moves through the ocean  Tide are very long period waves whose motion is directed by the effect of moon and sun .  Tides originate in the ocean and progress toward the coastlines where they appear as the regular rise and fall of the sea surface.

An area has a diurnal tidal cycle if it experiences one high and one low tide every lunar day. An area has a semidiurnal tidal cycle if it experiences two high and two low tides of approximately equal size every lunar day An area has a mixed semidiurnal tidal cycle if it experiences two high and two low tides of different size every lunar day.

As you drive in your car at 22.5 mi/h, you see a child’s ball roll into the street ahead of you. You hit the brakes and stop as
evablogger [386]

Answer:

Explanation:

Speed of car =22.5miles/hr

U=22.5miles/hour

Applied brake and come to rest

Final velocity, =0

t, =2sec

Given that,

Speed=distance /time

Then,

Distance, =speed, ×time

Converting mile/hour to m/s

Given that

Use: 1 mile= 1600 m, 1 h= 3600s

22.5miles/hour × 1600m/mile × 1hour/3600s

Therefore, 22.5mile/hour=10m/s

Using speed =10m/s

Distance =speed ×time

Distance=10×2

Distance, =20m

The distance travelled before coming to rest is 20m.

What factors do NOT affect friction between two objects? Explain how you know this.
Black_prince [1.1K]

The frictional force between two bodies depends mainly on three factors: (I) the adhesion between body surfaces

(ii) roughness of the surface

(iii) deformation of bodies.

Which factor affects elastic potential energy but not gravitational potential energy?
julsineya [31]

Explanation:

The energy stored in an elastic objects as a result of deformation is called elastic potential energy. The energy stored in a spring is given by :

E=\dfrac{1}{2}kx^2

Where

k = spring constant

x = compression or stretching in an spring

While gravitational potential energy is given by :

PE = mgh

where

m = mass

g = acceleration due to gravity

h = height from ground

So, the factor affecting elastic potential energy but not gravitational potential energy is " spring constant ".
