Answer:

Width: 4

Length: 9

Step-by-step explanation:

P = 2( l + w)

26 = 2(2x + 1 + x)

26 = 2(3x + 1)

26 = 6x + 2

6x = 24

x = 4

l = 2x + 1

2(4) + 1 = 9

PLZ EXPLAIN HOW TO DO THIS
Hitman42 [59]
Hello! Sorry, this took a minute.

All of the x's are on the same line, and they are equal to 180 degrees.

2x+x+3x+x=180

A straight line equals 180.

Combine like terms.

7x=180

Divide both sides by 7.

25.714... round to 25.7

Now, plug that into the angle that is vertical to 2y. (3x)

3(25.7)= 77.1

So, 3x= 77.1 and 2y= 77.1

Plug that in.

2y=77.1

Divide both sides by 2.

y=38.55

Round that up to 38.6.

"D" is the answer.

I hope this helps!

A random sample of 4000 college students yielded 2250 who are in favor of banning Hawaiian shirts. Estimate the true proportion
Andreas93 [3]

Answer: (0.5496, 0.5754)

Step-by-step explanation:

The confidence interval for population proportion (p) is given by :-

\hat{p}\pm z*\sqrt{\dfrac{\hat{p}(1-\hat{p})}{n}}  , where \hat{p}= Sample proportion , n= sample size , z*= Critical z-value.

Let p be the  proportion of all college students who are in favor of banning Hawaiian shirt.

Given, A random sample of 4000 college students yielded 2250 who are in favor of banning Hawaiian shirts.

i.e. n=4000

\hat{p}=\dfrac{2250}{4000}=0.5625

z-value for 90% confidence level is 1.645

Now , 90% confidence interval for p would be :

0.5625\pm (1.645)(\sqrt{\dfrac{0.5625(1-0.5625)}{4000}})

=0.5625\pm (1.645)(\sqrt{0.0000615234375})\\\\=0.5625\pm (1.645)(0.00784368774876)\\\\\approx0.5625\pm0.0129\\\\=(0.5625-0.0129, \ 0.5625+0.0129)\\\\=(0.5496,\ 0.5754)

Hence, the required 90% interval = (0.5496, 0.5754)

What is 1/4 divided by 1/2, and create and solve a real-world word problem that uses the above division expression.
Gnoma [55]

Answer:

1/4 divided by 1/2 equals 1/2

Real-world problem:

A constructor official knows that he needs 1/2 sack of cement to produce 10 blocks of concrete for a wall. The official only has 1/4 of the sack left and want to know how many blocks he can produce with this material.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since you know that 1/2 of the sack is needed to make 10 blocks, you can use this information to find the number of blocks that 1/4 of a sack can make. The question you want to answer is:

if \frac{1}{2} of a sack produces 10 blocks, how may blocks \frac{1}{4} of a sack can produce?

Using the Rule of Three you can solve

\frac{\frac{1}{4} }{\frac{1}{2}} =\frac{2}{4}=\frac{1}{2}

Now you know that 1/4 of a sack can produce 1/2 the number of blocks that 1/2 of the sack can produces, this means that you can produce 5 blocks of concrete.
