An element Y has 13 protons . with reference on Y answer these questions •

Chemistry

Explanation:

Y has 13 protons and we know that Aluminium (Al) too has 13 protons.

So , element Y = Aluminium

• In an element , no. of protons = no. of electrons. So , Y has 13 electrons.

• Mass no. of Y (Aluminium) = 27.

• Also we know that ,

Mass number = no. of protons + no. of neutrons

So,

No. of neutrons = 27 - 13 = 14

• Valence electrons are the electrons which are present in the outermost shell of an element.

Electronic Configuration of Y = 2,8,3

So, Y has 3 valence electrons.

• We know that Y is Aluminium & Aluminium is a metal. So , Y is a metal.

• Valency of Y = +3

How many excited electron in the atom with an electron configuration of [kr]5s24d55p6 ?
IRISSAK [1]
The ground-state electronic configuration follows the order of orbitals as shown in the first picture. So, we can deduce that the electronic configuration given is in order. However, each orbital must have a maximum number of electrons to be filled before it can move on to the next orbital. Since the d orbital must hold 10 electrons, that means that it should have held 5 electrons more. The missing 5 electrons were excited to the next 5p orbital. <em>Thus, there are 5 excited electrons.</em>

How many decigrams are in 4.6 decagrams?
11111nata11111 [884]

Answer:

\large \boxed{\text{460 dg}}

Explanation:

1. Convert decagrams to grams

\text{Mass} =  \text{4.6 dag} \times\dfrac{\text{10 g}}{\text{1 dag}} = \text{46 g}

2. Convert grams to decigrams

\\text{Mass} =  \text{46 g} \times\dfrac{\text{10 g}}{\text{1 dg}} = \text{460 dg}\\\\\large \boxed{\textbf{4.6 dag = 460 dg}}

The nickel(II) ion is commonly dissolved in solution using nickel(II) nitrate hexahydrate, Ni(NO3)2.6H2O. The nickel(II) ion pre
Juliette [100K]
Ni(OH)₂ ⇄ Ni⁺² + 2 OH⁻
Ksp = [Ni⁺²][OH⁻]²  = S (2S)² = 4S³
where S is molar solubility.
at pH = 10
[H⁺] = 10⁻¹⁰
[H⁺][OH⁻] = 10⁻¹⁴
so [OH⁻] = 10⁻⁴ M
Ksp = S [10⁻⁴ + 2S]²
Ksp is very small so the molar solubility of OH⁻ will be very small
so (10⁻⁴ + 2S) is about 10⁻⁴
so Ksp = S x 10⁻⁸
S = \frac{6 x 10^{-16} }{10^{-8} } = 6 x 10⁻⁸ M

Which gas will diffuse at a faster rate, CH4 with a molar mass of 16 g or
vivado [14]

Answer:

CH₄ will diffuse at faster rate.

Explanation:

According to Graham's law,

The rate of diffusion is inversely proportional to the square root of molar mas of gas.

It  is given in question the molar mass of CH₄ is 16 g. Thus the square rot of 16 is.

√16 = 4

The molar mass of SO₂ is 64 g and the square root is,

√64 = 16

As it is stated that diffusion rate is inversely related to the square root of molar mass thus the diffusion rate of  SO₂ is lower while methane diffuse faster.
