Please, find the diagrams in the picture attached.

Answer:

  • The correct diagram is shown in the separate picture attached.

Explanation:

When you show a model of the forces acting on an object you need to choose a system and show the forces on such system.

In order to do that, you replace what ever is not part of your system by forces, represented by arrows, that show the interactions of your system with the surroundings.

The horizontal line just below the ball represents the surface over which the ball is moving horizontally with some speed.

Then, by including this line in the diagram you cannot add the reaction force from the surface that it represents.

You only can add the reaction force by deleting the line that represents the surface.

Since all the other diagrams include the line and a vertical upward arrow that represents the normal force from the horizontal surface, those diagrams are wrong.

The only correct diagram is the one that does not include the upward vertical reaction (normal force) from the surface. That is the diagram shown in the second picture (the one with one single diagram).

Determine the pH of a 0.530 M solution of carbonic acid that has an acid dissociation constant of 4.4 x
Veronika [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

H2CO3  =  H+   +  HCO3-   H2CO3  =  0.530 M  Ka =4.4 X10^-7

Ka =[H+][A-]/[HA]        [H+] = [A-]

0.530 M x 4.4 X10^-7=  [H+}^2

2.32 X10^-7  =  [H+}^2

23.2 X10^-8 = [H+}^2

4.83 X 10^-4 = [H+]

pH = - log 4.83 X 10^-4

pH = -(.68-4)

pH =-(-3.32)

pH= 3.32

Coffee cools more quickly in a ceramic mug than in a Styrofoam

cup.

Explanation:

Styrofoam is a good insulator, thus for keeping the coffee warm for longer, it is a good choice than ceramic. The process involved in the control of heat dissipation employs the fact that the vapours in the form of gas are entrapped within, they lessen the conduction process between the molecules as a result molecules do not collide hence no energy releases or exchange takes place.

Styrofoam cups are made up of polystyrene foam. As a result of high insulation at styrofoam body conduction is not possible so coffee is warmer for longer.
