It looks like the number in the right column (y) is 1-1/2 times the number in the left column (x). Look at the top row of numbers...14 x 1.5= 21.
If you know the number in (y), then divide that # by 1.5 to find what the number should be in the (x) column.
So to find the answers for rows 2, 3, and 4 ...
64 x 1.5 = 96
39 / 1.5 = 26
1 x 1.5 = 1.5

find the value of a and b for which the system of equations has infinitely many solutions : 2x + 3y = 7 ; (a-b)x + (a+b)y = 3a +
hodyreva [135]

Answer:

a= 5    and   b=1

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve, we will follow the steps below:

2x + 3y = 7

(a-b)x + (a+b)y = 3a + b - 2

We should note that since it has infinitely many solutions then,

\frac{a_{1} }{a_{2} }   =  \frac{b_{1} }{b_{2} }  = \frac{c_{1} }{c_{2} }

Hence

2/a-b  =  3/a+b   =     7/3a +b-2

2/a-b  =  3/a+b

cross-multiply

3(a-b) = 2( a+b)

open the bracket

3a - 3b = 2a + 2b

collect like term

3a - 2a = 2b + 3b

a = 5b  -------------------------------------------(1)

Similarly

3/a+b   =     7/3a +b-2

cross-multiply

7(a+b)  = 3(3a+b -2)

7a + 7b = 9a + 3b -6

take all the variables to the left-hand side of the equation

7a - 9a+ 7b-3b =   -6

-2a + 4b = -6 ---------------------------------(2)

but a = 5b

substitute a= 5b in equation (2)   and solve for b

-2(5) + 4b = -6

-10  +  4b  = -6

add 10 to both-side of the equation

-10  + 10+ 4b  = -6+10

4b = 4

divide both-side of the equation by 4

b = 1

substitute b= 1 in equation (1)

a = 5b

a =5(1)

a=5

Therefore,   a= 5    and   b=1

Rudy collects baseball cards, and he currently has 300 cards. Starting tomorrow, he will purchase 1 pack of 15 baseball cards ev
Delvig [45]

Answer:

To find the number of cards, you must use the equation c = 300 + 17d. Collecting your known information in an organized form will be realllly helpful now and in the future. C represents the number of cards, while D represents the number of days!

Step-by-step explanation:

Starting with the original amount, which is 300---->

Here is the answer:

15 - 1 + 3 = 17 extra cards per day

Find the missing angles and sides
maria [59]

Step-by-step explanation:

m∠1 = 180-100 = 80

m∠2 = 180-150 = 30

m∠3 = 180-(80+30) = 180 - 110 = 70

using the law of sine :

AC/sin(m∠2) = 5/sin(m∠3) ⇒ AC = sin(m∠2)*(5/sin(m∠3)) = sin(30)×(5÷sin(70))

=2.66044443119

CB/sin(m∠1) = 5/sin(m∠3) ⇒ CB = sin(m∠1)*(5/sin(m∠3)) ⇒ CB = sin(80)×(5÷sin(70)) = 5.240052604588
