E. coli strain B is doubly infected with two rII mutants of phage T4. 0.2 ml of a 108 dilution of the progeny is plated on E. co

li B and 0.1 ml of a 104 dilution of the progeny is plated on E. coli K. 16 plaques appeared on strain B, 400 on strain K. Calculate the recombination frequency between these two mutations.

To Find :

The recombination frequency between these two mutations.

Solution :

Formula of calculating recombination frequency is :

R.F = \text{Number of mutations}\times \dfrac{\text{number of k plaques} \times D.F }{\text{Volume used}}\times \dfrac{Volume'}{\text{Number of B plaques} \times D.F' }}

Putting all given values in above equation, we get :

R.F = \dfrac{2\times 400\times 0.2 \times 10^4}{16\times 0.1\times 10^8}\\\\R.F = 0.01

Therefore, the recombination frequency between these two mutations is 0.01 or 1 %.

That's a very good question!! That would have to go along with the process of weathering and erosion. Basically how the heat, weather, and he pressure of the Earth forms land . Mount Everest was formed when India plate moved rapidly northwards towards Euro Asia plate.
Hope this helps!!

What is pollination? Identify three ways pollen can be transferred. How is cross-pollination different
Stells [14]

Answer:

The transfer of pollen to a stigma, ovule, flower, or plant to allow fertilization. It can be transferred by things that feed from what has pollen. Self-pollination occurs when the pollen from the anther is deposited on the stigma of the same flower, or another flower on the same plant. Cross-pollination is the transfer of pollen from the anther of one flower to the stigma of another flower on a different individual of the same species.

When calculating the rate of photosynthesis, why was it necessary to subtract the rate of O2 change in the light minus the rate
Nezavi [6.7K]

Answer:

plants process oxygen for respiration as an aerobic organism and also produces it, light can regulate this metabolism, which means that in the presence of light oxygen generation occurs as well as consumption and when there is darkness only consumption will occur Thus, when calculating the amount of oxygen that a plant produces during photosynthesis, it will be necessary to subtract the oxygen it consumes, from which it is deduced that the rate of oxygen consumption will not have variations and will be the same in the day and in the At night, so the change of oxygen in the dark is subtracted with the change of volume of oxygen in the light phase
