viktelen [127]

Elective courses give students a chance to explore subjects not typically valued and explore interests they didn't know they had. This exploration will also let them discover career options they had not even considered a possibility. This helps them expand their horizons and grow as people.

I can't help you with the second one, sorry. the whole writing your highschool plan in middle school is B.S. I changed my direction completely. I started out focusing on welding and car repair and ended up in  the radio club and focusing on culinary and baking courses. all you need to know in middle school is a reasonable understanding of the pathways your highschool is providing and what you enjoy.

If there is one class that should be required for high school graduation it should be Home Economics of some sort. No matter what profession a person goes into they should have a grasp on how to take care of themselves. A typical home ec class includes brief rundowns on how to calculate a monthly budget, how to cook a basic meal (so you aren't just surviving on instant ramen), how to write a resume, how to sew a button or mend a garment , and how to manage a social group/ interaction. In my opinion, each of these should be considered the examples of why it should be required because they are necessary whether you are going to be a janitor or a doctor.

Lerok [7]

The correct answer would be, Keeping realistic expectations of what you can accomplish

The time management skill of knowing your limits means keeping realistic expectations of what you can accomplish.

So the time management skill of knowing you limits means, a person must know what he can accomplish within a given time period.

For example, if you set a goal of reading a 500 pages book in 2 hours, it won't be realistic. You won't be able to accomplish this goal. So you must set realistic expectations.

Which describes the health risks of binge-eating disorder?
KatRina [158]

Answer:

The answer is C. excessive weight gain that results in diabetes and high blood pressure.

Explanation:

Binge Eating Disorder (BED) is a serious, life-threatening disorder which may <u>lead to several metabolic diseases</u> and complications like diabetes mellitus and hypertension. This should be immediately addressed by a psychiatrist in order to give intervention earlier to avoid development of chronic diseases.

  • According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - 5 (DSM-5) criteria for BED, it should have the following signs and symptoms

1. Recurrent binge eating episodes should be both characterized by the following,

<em>"Eating, in a discrete period of time (e.g., within any 2-hour period), an amount of food that is definitely larger than what most people would eat in a similar period of time under similar circumstances,"</em> and

<em>"A sense of lack of control over eating during the episode (e.g., a feeling that one cannot stop eating or control what or how much one is eating)."</em>

2. It is then associated with any 3 of the following

  • <em>"Eating much more rapidly than normal. "</em>
  • <em>"Eating until feeling uncomfortably full. "</em>
  • <em>"Eating large amounts of food when not feeling physically hungry. "</em>
  • <em>"Eating alone because of feeling embarrassed by how much one is eating. "</em>
  • <em>"Feeling disgusted with oneself, depressed, or very guilty afterward."</em>

3. Marked distress regarding binge eating is present.

4. The binge eating occurs, on average, at least once a week for 3 months.

5. The binge eating is not associated with the recurrent use of inappropriate compensatory behaviors (e.g., purging) as in bulimia nervosa and does not occur exclusively during the course of bulimia nervosa or anorexia nervosa.
