Health insurance benefits vary by the size of the company. The sample data below show the number of companies providing health i

nsurance for small, medium, and large companies. For purposes of this study, small companies are companies that have fewer than 100 employees. Medium-sized companies have 100 to 999 employees, and large companies have 1,000 or more employees. The questionnaire sent to 225 employees asked whether or not the employee had health insurance and then asked the employee to indicate the size of the company. Health Insurance Size of the Company.
Size of the company
Health Insurance Small Medium Large
Yes 36 65 88
No 14 10 12

a. Conduct a test of independence to determine whether health insurance coverage is independent of the size of the company. Using a .05 level of significance. Compute the value of the 2 test statistic (to 2 decimals).

The p-value is:_______
What is your conclusion?

b. A newspaper article indicated employees of small companies are more likely to lack health insurance coverage. Use percentages based on the above data to support or reject this conclusion. (Round to whole numbers.)

Small:__________ %
Medium:_______ %
Large:__________ %

Based on the percentages calculated above, what can you conclude?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

a. The hypothesis of testing are

Null Hypothesis, H0: The health insurance coverage is independent of the size of the company.

Alternative hypothesis, H1: The health insurance coverage is not independent of the size of the company

The test statistics is calculated as

X² =  <u>∑(Ei - Oi)²</u>  ≅X²(r-1)(c-1)

        i      Ei

where Oi's are the observed values and Ei's are the expected values,

E= <u>row total × column total</u>

            total

The expected values are

        Sizeof the Company

Health Insurance    Small   Medium Large Total

Yes                             42     63          84           189

No                              8             12          16           36

Total                      50    75                  100           225

Therefore, the test statistics is

X² =∑ (<u>Ei -Oi)² </u>=6.94 ≅  x²₂

      i       Ei

The critical value is found to be 5.99. Since test statistics > critical value, we reject H0 and conclude that the health insurance coverage is not independent of the size of the company.

The associated p-value is 0.031 (<0.05).

b. Percentage of employees lacking health insurance coverage is

Small 14/50 x 100 = 28%

Medium 10/75 x 100 = 13%

Large 12/100 x 100 = 12%

Hence depending on the above percentage, we can support the claim that the employees of small companies are more likely to lack health insurance coverage.

What is the constant term for -2a3b2+5ab5+7b4+8
stiv31 [10]

Hey there!

<u>Constant terms</u> are the terms where no variables are there (only the constant, i.e, the number). So, here the term <em><u>8</u></em><em><u> </u></em><em><u> </u></em>is the constant term because it doesn't have any variables.

Hope it helps ya!

What is the volume of the cylinder below radius 8 height 3 in pi units Answer choices: A)96pi unit^3 B)192pi unit^3 C)225pi unit
WARRIOR [948]

Hey!

The formula for finding volume of a cylinder is: π · r² · h

r = 8 \\ r^{2} = 8 \times 8 = 64

h = 3

Now multiply

\pi \times 64 \times 3 = 192\pi

<em>Your answer is B)192π units³</em>

Good luck and hope this helps! :)

The circle x2+y2=36 is translated 5 Units left and 4 units up where is the center of the new circle after the translation
Andrej [43]
The general equation of a circle is given by:
(x-a)^2+(x-b)^2=r^2
where:
(a,b) is the center
r is the radius

given the equation:
x^2+y^2=36
it means that the equation is centered at (0,0) with radius of 6 units. Thus a translation of 5 units to the left and 4 units up, will change the new center to
(-5,4)
thus the equation will be:
(x+5)^2+(y-4)^2=36

Answer: (x+5)^2+(y-4)^2=36

Helping others makes a person good

Answer:

9 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the height of the pyramid be h cm, then the height of the cuboid is (15 - h) cm.

Volume of the pyramid:

= 1/3 * h * s^2      where s is the length of a side of the square base.

= hs^2/3 cm^3

Volume of the cuboid:

= s^2(15 - h).

So we have:

hs^2/ 3 = 300.......................(1)

s^2(15 - h) = 600..................(2)

From  equation (1) :

h s^2 = 900

s^2 = 900/h

Now substitute for s^2 in  equation (2) :

(900/h)(15 - h) = 600

Multiply through by h:

900(15 - h) = 600h

13500 - 900h = 600h

1500h = 13500

h = 9 cm (answer).                  brainliest?
