Composition of the nuclei of two atomic species A and B are given below:

Chemistry
1 answer:
Inessa [10]2 years ago
5 0

Explanation:

(a) mass number = atomic number + number of neutrons

(the atomic number is the number of protons of an element)

mass number of A = 11 + 12 = 23

mass number of B = 17 + 18 = 35

(b) +1 and -1, respectively

(c) A+ + B- → AB (the first plus sign and the minus sign are superscripts)

How many polar bonds are found in this molecule
Law Incorporation [45]
A bond is non polar if it is between same atoms and polar if it is between different atoms.

Same atoms are like two dogs of same strength pulling a bone towards towards each other. But when it’s different atoms it’s like a big dog and small dog then the bone is more towards bigger dog. So it’s the same way in bonds.

Bonds are made up of electrons, when the more stronger pulling atom is present than other the electrons are more towards it and as a result we have polar bond. There is development of a kind of a negative pole and a positive pole.

The stronger atom has electrons towards itself so it has a little more negative charge while the other atom has positive charge. This makes bond polar.

So just look for bond between two different atoms, it would be polar.

Look at the pic below to see the answer.

Marked with green is bond between same atoms... one carbon and another carbon so it is not polar and test marked with blue are polar.

Well the answer should have been 10 but since the bonds at 3 and 8 are two of same type we count only one of them.

The answer is 8... well the answer should be 10 otherwise... discuss it with ur teacher

The amount of a chemical solution is measured to be 2 liters.
irinina [24]
2 liters may be 1.5 to 1.9 rounded up to 2 or 2.1 or 2.4 rounded down to 2.

2 - 1.5 = 0.5

percent error = (absolute error / quantity) * 100

percent error = 0.5/2 * 100% = 0.25 * 100% = 25%

Choice C. 25%.

#1: How are the elements arranged in the modern periodic table?
Alekssandra [29.7K]

1- The correct answer is C :

the elements arranged in the modern periodic table by increasing atomic number.

The explanation:

-The elements in the periodic table are arranged to increase the atomic number. All of these elements display several other trends and we can use the periodic law and table formation to predict their chemical, physical, and atomic properties.

2- The correct answer is C:

strontium, magnesium, calcium, beryllium are the elements which have similar properties.

The explanation:

-strontium, magnesium, calcium, beryllium, these belong to the alkaline earth metal group.

Because the outer electron structure in all of these elements is similar, they all have somewhat similar chemical and physical properties .

3- The correct answer is A :

Potassium

The explanation:

-The elements potassium and sodium have similar chemical properties because they have the same number of valence electrons and form +1 ions.

4- The correct answer is D

The explanation:

Mendeleev didn't include helium, neon, and argon in his periodic table because these elements had not yet been discovered.

5- The correct answer is B:

The periodic law describes trends seen across periods within the periodic table.

The explanation:

When the chemical elements are arranged, there is a pattern called the “periodic law” in their properties, in which elements in the same column (group) have similar properties

Why do solids exist ?
lubasha [3.4K]

Answer:

A solid's particles are packed closely together. The forces between the particles are strong enough that the particles cannot move freely; they can only vibrate. As a result, a solid has a stable, definite shape and a definite volume. Solids can only change shape under force, as when broken or cut.
