Answer: 6.75 moles of Na_2O can be produced from 13.5 moles Na

Explanation:

The balanced chemical equation  for formation of Na_2O from Na is:

4Na+O_2\rightarrow 2Na_2O

According to stoichiometry :

4 moles of Na give = 2 moles of Na_2O

Thus 13.5 moles of Na give =\frac{2}{4}\times 13.5=6.75moles  of Na_2O

Thus 6.75 moles of Na_2O can be produced from 13.5 moles Na

True or False: It is OK to use wet glassware for the aspirin synthesis without potentially affecting your yield
vesna_86 [32]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

Laboratory synthesis of aspirin is done by the acetylation of salicylic acid with the help of acetic anhydride .

As , the  acid anhydride is very sensitive to moisture , as it can hydrolyze into two molecules of  acids,

Hence , the reaction involving acid anhydride  are conducted in anhydrous solvents .

Hence ,

if water is  present in the glassware then , some of the acetic anhydride is wasted , Which in turns reduces the yield than that expected .

In which of the following substances do you find strong hydrogen bonding?
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

The strength of an individual H bond depends on the polarity of the H-X bond and therefore on the electronegativity of X ( the more delta positive the H atom, the stronger the electrostatic force of attraction between it and a lone pair of electrons). Thus, on a per bond basis, HF H bonding is strongest. However, as water has two H atoms, each molecule can form two H bonds so on a per molecule basis, water H bonding is strongest (this is evidenced by the boiling points of the three substances; NH3 < HF < H2O.)
