The result of mitosis is two identical daughter cells, genetically identical to the original cell, all having 2N chromosomes. ... A chromatid, then, is a single chromosomal DNA molecule. In contrast to a mitotic division, which yields two identical diploid daughter cells, the end result of meiosis is haploid daughter cells with chromosomal combinations different from those originally present in the parent. In sperm cells, four haploid gametes are produced.

When a scientist uses radiometric dating to determine the age of a rock specimen, would he use a radioactive element with a shor
xenn [34]

Answer:

He will use a radioactive element with a long half life of greater than 1 billion years

Explanation:

Rocks are an aggregation of solid mass which is usually rich in minerals. The age of rocks is established using radiometric dating method.

According to Oxford Dictionary, radiometric dating is "a method of dating geological specimens by determining the relative proportions of particular radioactive isotopes present in a sample."

The age of rocks can only be ascertained using isotopes that have very long half lives because many of these rocks are very old (aged billions of years) hence their age can only be determined using elements that has a half life greater than 1 billion years.

Dynamic regulation is required for maintaining homeostasis.Explain how a cellular mechanism that regulates the quantity of a bio
Troyanec [42]

The homeostasis of the human body works like a machine set at a particular standard. If the factors deviate from the standard values, the homeostatic mechanism come into action.

For example, if a cell requires certain protein, the respective genes get a signal and get activated. The cell start synthesizing the protein and when sufficient amount is made, there is a feedback loop, which allows the same protein to stop the synthesis as well. A lot of organs and cellular systems are involved in regulating the synthesis of this protein.

This is similar to the cooling system. If we set the temperature of the cooling system to certain degree, it will start cooling the room till the required temperature is reached. As soon as the temperature is acquired, the system cut-off automatically and the required temperature is maintained.

Question 2:

Many experiments require student-supplied items, such as _____.

1. Chicken

2. Fresh flowers

3. Distilled water

4. All of the Above.

Answer to Question 2:

The correct answer is 3.

Explanation

Water comes in varying degrees of purity. When water that contains other substrates or impurities is used for an experiment, it distorts the results and creates errors. So the scientist's ability to determine the root of a problem becomes enervated.

Using distilled water impurities removes the possibility of such an error. Distilled water is also used for cleaning laboratory equipment.
