7.625 Newtons

work = force× distance
Newtons is an accepted value for force

so take the total 224 joules and decide by distance 32 meters to find force in Newtons

A wheel in the shape of a flat, heavy, uniform, solid disk is initially at rest at the top of an inclined plane of height 2.00 m
olasank [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

If friction is neglected, the wheel cannot roll and can only slide frictionlessly and will have the same velocity at the bottom of the ramp as if it had been in free fall as it has converted the same amount of potential energy.

mgh = ½mv²

v = √(2gh) = √(2(9.81)(2.00)) = 6.26418... = 6.26 m/s

However if we do not ignore all friction and the wheel rolls without slipping down the slope, the potential energy becomes linear and rotational kinetic energy

mgh = ½mv² + ½Iω²

mgh = ½mv² + ½(½mR²)(v/R)²

2gh = v² + ½v²

2gh = 3v²/2

v = √(4gh/3) =√(4(9.81)(2.00)/3) = 5.11468... = 5.11 m/s

Why does magma rise from depth to the surface of the earth?
Viefleur [7K]

Answer

Magma is less dense compared to the surrounding rock.

the overlying rock creates pressure which forces the magma to be directed upward.

Explanation:

at high temperatures the magma is liquid form with the high energy which causes the formation of bonds and the pressure build up creates the increase  channeling of the liquid.as the temperature decreases the magma moves into the surface

A hot–air balloon is moving at a speed of 10.0 meters/second in the +x–direction. The balloonist throws a brass ball in the +x–d
Ad libitum [116K]

Answer:

Option (D) is correct.

Explanation:

The balloon lands horizontally at a distance of 420 m from a point where it as released.

Velocity of air balloon along +X axis =10 m/s

velocity of ball=4 m/s along + X axis

the velocity of balloon gets added to the velocity of ball. So the resultant velocity of the balloon=10+4 = 14 m/s

time taken= 30 s

The distance traveled is given by d= v t

d= 14 (30)

d= 420 m

Thus the balloon lands horizontally at a distance of 420 m from a point where it as released.

Coherent light with wavelength 610 nm passes through two very narrow slits, and theinterference pattern is observed on a screen
andriy [413]

Answer:

= 1220 nm

= 1.22 μm

Explanation:

given data:

wavelength \lambda = 610 nm = 610\times  10 ^{-9} m

distance of screen from slits D = 3 m

1st order bright fringe is 4.84 mm

condition for 1 st bright is

d sin \theta =\lambda     ---( 1)

andtan \theta = \frac{y}{ D}

\theta = tan^{-1}\frac{(y }{D})

= 0.0924 degrees

plug theta value in equation 1 we get

d sin ( 0.0924) = 610 \times 10 ^{-9}

d = 3.78\times 10^{-4} m

condition for 1 st dark fringe

d sin \theta =\frac{λ'}{2}

\lambda '= 2 d sin\theta

= 2λ    since from eq (1)

= 1220 nm

= 1.22 μm
