Answer:

D. 12.5 min

Explanation:

Speed = distance ÷ time.

time = distance ÷ speed.

18km × 1000m = 18000m (as speed is in m/s).

time = 18000m ÷ 24.0m/s

t = 750s.

750s ÷ 60

= 12.5mins is your answer.

hope this helps. :)

Gibbons move through the trees by swinging from successive handholds, as we have seen. To increase their speed, gibbons may brin
Sedbober [7]

By bring their legs close to their bodies, they are decreasing the length of the pendulum which help them move more quickly.

A pendulum is nothing but a body suspended from a fixed point so that it can swing back and forth under the influence of gravity.

Here in this case Gibbons are bringing their legs close to their bodies and reducing the length of the pendulum. Since as the length of the pendulum increases the speed of the movement will be reduced. By bringing their legs close to their bodies they are reducing the length and in turn their speed increase and they move quickly.

A ball is thrown into the air with 100 J of kinetic energy, which is transformed to gravitational potential energy at the top of
masya89 [10]

To solve this problem we could apply the concepts given by the conservation of Energy.

During the launch given in terms of kinetic energy and reaching the maximum point of the object, the potential energy of the body is conserved. However, part of all this energy is lost due to the work done by the friction force due to friction with the air, therefore

E_T = PE + KE -W_f

The potential and kinetic energy are conserved and are the same PE = KE and this value is equivalent to 100J, therefore

E_T = 100-W_f

The kinetic energy will ultimately be less than 100J, so the correct answer is C.
