Write and solve an eqn of ratios to determine the answer to this qu:

156 miles      4 gallons
-------------- = --------------
        x             6 gallons

So (156)(6) = 4x, or 39(6) = x = 234 miles (answer)

Alternatively, determine the unit rate:

156 miles
-------------- = 39 mpg
4 gallons

Then 39 mpg times 6 gallons comes out to 234 miles.

Given any two arcs, the larger of the arcs is always called a minor arcTrueFalse
GrogVix [38]

When we have two arcs in a circle, one larger and one smaller, one will be called the minor arc and the other the minor arc.

The name of the arc depends on its size, for example, given the following green and yellow arcs, the green, which is smaller, will be the minor arc:

Therefore, the larger arc is always called Major arc, not minor arc.

The statement is False.

Answer: False

What is the y coordinate in the solution for the system of linear equations below
Natali5045456 [20]

Answer:

y=6

Step-by-step explanation:

use elimination by making the ys opposite in value and eliminating them from the equation so there is only variable:

-3x+2y=6

2(4x-y=2)

-3x+2y=6

8x-2y=4

Combine like terms and divide by 5 on both sides.

5x=10

x=2

Plug x in to find y:

4(2)-y=2

8-y=2

y=6

If 5 ibs apples cost $2.99, how much would 3 ibs cost?
AnnZ [28]

We know that 5 lbs of apples cost $2.99

To know how much do 3 lbs of apple cost, you can use cross multiplication

If 5 lbs cost $2.99

Then 3 lbs cost $x

The proportion between the price and the number of apples is the same, you have to calculate it as:

\begin{gathered} \frac{2.99}{5}=\frac{x}{3} \\ (\frac{2.99}{5})\cdot3=x \\ x=1.794 \end{gathered}

3 lbs of apples cost $1.79

Suppose that P[infinity] n=0 cnx n converges when x = −5 and diverges when x = 7. What can be said about the convergence or dive
bezimeni [28]

What can be said about the convergence or divergence of the following series? summation n=0 to infinite (-1)^n Cn9^n

Answer:

The series diverges

Step-by-step explanation:

Given.

The center of convergence of the series, ΣCnx^n = 0 (for n = 0 to ∞)

The interval of the convergence is of the form (-k,k)

One or both the end points may be included in the intervals of convergence.

Also, given that the series diverges when x = 7; this implies that the interval of convergence is smaller than {-7,7}

The series

Σ(-1)^n Cn9^n (for n = 0 to ∞)

= Σ Cn(-9)^n (for n = 0 to ∞)

This is obtained after substituting -9 for x in ΣCnx^n = 0

So, x = -9

This is outside the boundary {-7,7}.

Hence, the given series diverges

If polygon A is a parallelogram, and polygon B is a rectangle, which of the
Daniel [21]

Answer:

The answer is C

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets talk about some facts in parallelograms and rectangles

- Rectangle is a parallelogram with right angles

- Supplementary angles is two angles their sum is 180°

- The opposite angles in the rectangle are equal and supplementary

- A circle can circumscribe a quadrilateral if the opposite angles of

 the quadrilateral are supplementary

- In the parallelograms opposite angles are equal

- The circle can circumscribe a rectangle because its opposite

 angles are supplementary

- The circle can't circumscribe a parallelogram because its opposite

 angles are not supplementary they are equal

* Lets solve the problem

- Polygon A is a parallelogram

- Polygon B is a rectangle (parallelogram with right angles)

∵ The circle can't circumscribe a parallelogram because its opposite

  angles are not supplementary

∴ Polygon A can't circumscribed by a circle

∵ Polygon B is a rectangle its opposite angles are equal the measure

  of  each one is 90°

∴ Its opposite angles are supplementary

∴ Polygon B can circumscribed by a circle

∵ The rectangle is a parallelogram with right angles

∴ Polygon B represents the only parallelogram that a circle can

  circumscribed because opposite angles are supplementary

* The answer is C
