Answer:

(- 1, - 6 )

Step-by-step explanation:

Given endpoints (x₁, y₁ ) and (x₂, y₂ ) then the midpoint is

( \frac{x_{1}+x_{2}  }{2} , \frac{y_{1}+y_{2}  }{2} ) ← midpoint formula

Use this formula on the endpoints and equate to the coordinates of the midpoint.

let the other endpoint = (x, y) , then

\frac{13+x}{2} = 6 ( multiply both sides by 2 )

13 + x = 12 ( subtract 13 from both sides )

x = - 1

\frac{-2+y}{2} = - 4 ( multiply both sides by 2 )

- 2 + y = - 8 ( add 2 to both sides )

y = - 6

The coordinates of the other endpoint are (- 1, - 6 )

let other one be (x,y)

We know midpoint formula

\boxed{\sf (x,y)=\left(\dfrac{x_1+x_2}{2},\dfrac{y_1+y_2}{2}\right)}

\\ \sf\longmapsto (6,-4)=\left(\dfrac{13+x}{2},\dfrac{-2+y}{2}\right)

\\ \sf\longmapsto \dfrac{13+x}{2}=6

\\ \sf\longmapsto 13+x=12

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=12-13

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=-1

And

\\ \sf\longmapsto \dfrac{-2+y}{2}=-4

\\ \sf\longmapsto -2+y=-8

\\ \sf\longmapsto y=-8+2

\\ \sf\longmapsto y=-6

If 17(7x−3) =1 then which answer shows the correct steps to solve for x? x−3/7=1 x=4/7 x−3=1 x=4 x−3/7=1 x=10/7 x+3/7=1 x=6/7
Sergio039 [100]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

17(7x−3) =1

Divide both sides by 17

7x - 3 = 1/17

Collect like terms

7x = 1/17 + 3

x = (1/17 + 3) /7

x = 52/17 ÷ 7

x = 52/17 × 1/7

x = 52/119

The boxplot below shows salaries for CPAs and Actuaries in a town. 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100 Salary (thousands of $) Actuary CPA
GuDViN [60]

Answer: 75%

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to answer this question, we have to know the meaning of a box plot. Boxplots are especially useful in statistical analysis and gives us a meaningful range of values. A box plot consists of 2 shapes, which are the box part and the extended lines. The short sides of the  box and the vertical line in the middle of the box represent a certain percentage of the values. The vertical line in the boxplot is the median of your dataset. For example, according to the shape given in the question, the median value for CPA's is 50 and this is closer to the left side of the box. This means that the first half ogf the dataset (when ranked from the smallest to the greatest) is closer to each other. The sides of the box represent the values at the 25% and 75% of the values respectfully.

For example, if we have 100 values, we rank them in order and the 25th value corresponds to the left side of the boxplot (named first quartile), 50th value (which is also the median)  corresponds the vertical line in the box and and the 75the value corresponds to the right side of the box (named third quartile).

The extended arms are calculated as accordingly: IQR=(3rd quartile value-1st quartile value). Left extended arm is first quartile-1.5*IQR and right extended arm is third quartile+1.5*IQR. However, this information is not directly related to this question.

Now, this question should seem simpler. The median salary of CPA is 50 and this is equal to left side of the Actuary boxplot, which corresponds to the 25% of actuaries. As a result, CPA median salary is less than 75% of the Actuaries (100%-25%).

3÷x=5 complete each division sentence
MrRa [10]

Answer:

3/5=x

Step-by-step explanation:

3÷x=5

multiply both sides by x

x(3÷x)=(5)x

cancel out x on the left side of the equation

3=5x

divide both sides by 5

3/5=(5x)/5

cancel out 5 on the right side

3/5=x

What is the solution set for the open sentence with the given replacement set? 4y + 2 = 18, {4, 5, 6, 7}
4vir4ik [10]
+2 crosses the equal sign to become 4y=18-2,as 18-2=16 so you get 4y=16 and finally divide both sides by 4,as 4 goes into 16,4 times,therefore,y=4
