Answer:

In plotting position versus time it can be seen that the green line represents  a fixed position at the various times given - the other lines represent changing position with time

The (horizontal) green line describes an object that's not moving.

Whatever TIME you pick to look at the green line, its POSITION is always the same. This is a pretty good description of "not moving".

The other three lines all have different positions at different times, so they all describe motion.

A 1400-kg car moving with a speed of 32 m/s is approaching a stoplight. The light turns yellow and the car makes an abrupt stop
inna [77]

Answer:

c. 716, 800 J

Explanation:

t = Time taken

u = Initial velocity = 32 m/s

v = Final velocity = 0

s = Displacement = 60 m

a = Acceleration

m = Mass of car = 1400 kg

v^2-u^2=2as\\\Rightarrow a=\dfrac{v^2-u^2}{2s}\\\Rightarrow a=\dfrac{0^2-32^2}{2\times 60}

Work done is given by

W=Fscos\theta\\\Rightarrow W=mascos\theta\\\Rightarrow W=1400\times \dfrac{0^2-32^2}{2\times 60}\times 60\times cos0\\\Rightarrow W=-716800\ J

The amount of work done to stop the car is 716800 J

What are two uses of total internal reflection? (GCSE Physics)
jeka94

Answer:

1) Used in optical instruments such as telescopes.

2) Used to form mirages

Explanation:

1) Perhaps the simplest example of this is the astronomical refractor telescope with a right-angle eyepiece holder. Astro scopes mostly point at things high in the sky, but it is inconvenient to place your eye low to look up through the scope, so the light path is bent 90 degrees just before the eyepiece. This can be done with a mirror, but using a simple 45 degree prism (internal angles 45, 45, and 90 degrees) will do the 90 degree bend more efficiently.

2) So when a light pass from cold air to hot air light tends to bend from its path which is known as refraction. As the light get refracted it reaches to a point where the light tends to form 90 degree angle.

Gold, which has a density of 19.32 g/cm3, is the most ductile metal and can be pressed into a thin leaf or drawn out into a long
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

a) 578.0 cm²

b) 25.18 km

Explanation:

We're given the density and mass, so first calculate the volume.

D = M / V

V = M / D

V = (6.740 g) / (19.32 g/cm³)

V = 0.3489 cm³

a) The volume of any uniform flat shape (prism) is the area of the base times the thickness.

V = Ah

A = V / h

A = (0.3489 cm³) / (6.036×10⁻⁴ cm)

A = 578.0 cm²

b) The volume of a cylinder is pi times the square of the radius times the length.

V = πr²h

h = V / (πr²)

h = (0.3489 cm³) / (π (2.100×10⁻⁴ cm)²)

h = 2.518×10⁶ cm

h = 25.18 km
