Since the triangles are similar, all sides are proportional by the same scale factor.
The relationship between the bases 32 and 8 is 4 (32/8 = 4). This means that the smaller triangle need to be multiplied by a scale factor 4 to result in the bigger triangle.
This means that 4x + 12 is 4 times greater than 15.
The equation to solve for x can be written as:
4x + 12 = 4*15
Now just solve for x as u normally would
4x + 12 = 60
(Subtract twelve from both sides)
4x = 48
(Divide both sides by 4 to isolate x)
x = 12

I hope this somewhat helped :)
Was my explanation clear enough?

Let p and q represent the following simple statements:
11111nata11111 [884]

Answer:   p \  \wedge \ q

The upside down V symbol is known as a wedge. It represents a conjunction which is informally the "and". In other words, p \ \wedge \ q = \text{p and q}

Note how we can replace p with "the taxes are high" and replace q with "the job pays well" to arrive at the overall compound statement "The taxes are high and the job pays well".

Some logic textbooks will use an ampersand symbol & to be used in place of a wedge. It will depend on the notation that they, or your teacher, has set up.

Jerry is buying a new large screen television for his game room. He knows that the diagonal of the television measures 42.1 inch
bixtya [17]
Remember that the area of a rectangle is length times width; since we don't know the width, we'll use the Pythagorean theorem to find it first:
l= \sqrt{h^{2}-c^{2}  }
Where l is the leg, and h the hypotenuse. We know that one of the legs, the base has a measures 34.3 inches and the hypotenuse a measures 42.1 inches.
Replace the values to get:
l= \sqrt{42.1^{2}-34.3^{2}  }
l=24.4=w
Now that we know the width (w), we just net to multiply it by the length to get our area:
A=(24.4)(34.3)=836.9

We can conclude that the correct answer is <span>B) 836.9 in.</span>
