its slowing it down because if you eat snacks in between meals your metabolism will work faster but if you just eat 3 square meals alone then it slows down as it dosent have to digest as much in a certain time period.

Answer:

Slowing it down.

Explanation:

Metabolism refers to all chemical reactions that maintains a living state of organisms and cells. It's basically what maintains the body alive.

So, the metabolism can be slow or fast and this represent the speed of transforming food in energy. If a metabolism is slow, the chemical reaction would be too, and the transformation from food to energy wouldn't be efficient, which is traduced in more body fat stored. On the contrary, if the metabolism is fast, the energy will be produced more efficient, and less fat will be stored.

In addition, the speed of the metabolism is influenced by the amount of meals we have per day. When we wait too much time between meals, the metabolism tends to slow down, because it has too much time inactive. However, if we have meals with less time between, the metabolism will be active for a longer period of time, and that will speed up it, causing a higher efficient in our internal chemical reaction, converting food into energy effectively.
