The average kinetic energy of an atom in helium gas at temperature T is given by,

K.E=\frac{3}{2}KT

here, K is botzmann constant =1.38×10⁻²³ m² kg s⁻² K⁻¹

Given, K.E= 6.21×10⁻²¹ J

Substituting the values,

6.21*10^{-21}=\frac{3}{2}1.38*10^{-23}T

T= 300 K

Therefore, at temperature 300 K the average kinetic energy of the atom in helium gas is 6.21×10⁻²¹ J.

Windmills run on the principle of mechanical energy and work. Moving air (wind) possesses some amount of energy in the form of kinetic energy (due to motion). This energy gives the air the ability to do work on the blades of the fan.

A man holds a child on his shoulders while watching a football match. How many work has he done if the game lasts for 2 hours?
Shalnov [3]

very interesting and amazing question u had asked but i get it...

Answer

  • work done is given by

W = Force × Displacement

  • but in above case force is exerted on the men as the weight of the child × gravitational pull of earth (9.8 m/s^2) but the displacement or movement is ZERO
  • there for W= F×0 =0
  • so even after carrying child for 2 hours work done by the men will be zero

<u>More</u><u> </u><u>examples</u>

  • a person standing straight and lifting weight
  • a person carry some weight and walk in a circular path and came back to its original position.........in this case also Displacement will be zero
