Velocity is the speed of an object in a given direction.

Because the two runners are going in different directions the velocities are not the same.

Answer:

Yes

Explanation:

Velocity is simply your displacement divided by your time.

Now if we break down displacement, it means how far you are from your starting position, even if their in opposite  directions, the displacement is still 10 miles from the starting point after one hour.

A parallel-plate capacitor is charged by a 14.0 V battery, then the battery is removed. You may want to review (Pages 692 - 695)
Anika [276]

Answer:

Potential Difference = 14 V

Explanation:

We are told that when the capacitor plates are charged to a certain voltage, then we have;

ΔV = 14 volts

Now, the battery is disconnected, so here we have the potential difference between the plates to be given by the formula;

ΔV = Q/C

Now, the charge is conserved on the plates and the capacitance is constant, therefore in this case, the potential difference will remain the same.

Thus;

Potential Difference = 14 V

A concave mirror produces a real image that is three times as large as the object. If the object is 20 cm in front of the mirror
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

The image is produced 60 cm behind the mirror

The focal length of the mirror is 30 cm

Explanation:

u = Object distance =  20 cm

v = Image distance

f = Focal length

m = Magnification = 3

m=-\frac{v}{u}\\\Rightarrow 3=-\frac{v}{20}\\\Rightarrow v=-3\times 20\\\Rightarrow v=-60\ cm

The image is produced 60 cm behind the mirror

\frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{u}+\frac{1}{v}\\\Rightarrow \frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{20}+\frac{1}{-60}\\\Rightarrow \frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{30}\\\Rightarrow f=\frac{30}{1}=30\ cm

The focal length of the mirror is 30 cm
