4 0

Answer

10 = x

Step-by-step explanation:

The reason for this equation is that it say "5 years less", which we subtract 5, but from what exactly. Well, the next portion of the sentence says "twice Marco's Age" therefore, its 2x so we must subtract 5 from 2x. Later in the problem we are given Yolanda's age so our equation changes to this:

15 = 2x - 5     Now we just solve for x.

15 = 2x - 5     Add 5 to both sides.

+5        + 5

20 = 2x          Divide by 2 on both sides

10 = x

As a result, Marcus is 10 years old. Hopefully this makes sense! Feel free to ask any questions!.

Naomi is doing a report about the 1900 and 1904 olympic games. Each page will contain information about 4 of the countries that
hammer [34]

Answer:

The correct answer is the equation stands as 4x =40 where x is the number of pages Naomi would require and the value of this x is 10.

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of countries that competed in 1900 summer Olympic games is 28.

Number of countries that competed in 1904 summer Olympic games is 12.

Total number of countries competed in total is 40.

Each page of Naomi's report contains  information about 4 of the countries that competed each year.

Let Naomi need x number of pages to incorporate the whole report.

Thus the equation now stands as 4 × x = 40.

⇒ x = 10.

Thus Naomi would require 10 pages to complete her report.

Find the surface area of each figure to the nearest tenth.
Stells [14]
For the cylinder on the left-hand-side,

\bf \textit{surface area of a cylinder}\\\\
S=2\pi r(h+r)\quad
\begin{cases}
r=radius\\
h=height\\
------\\
h=10\\
r=5
\end{cases}\implies S=2\pi (5)(10+5)

now, for the triangular prism on the right-hand-side,

notice is really just 2 triangles and 3 rectangles, stacked  up to each other at the edges.

the triangles have a base of 4, and a height of 1.5.

the rectangle on the left and the one on the right is a 6x2.5 rectangle.

the rectangle at the bottom, is a 4x6 rectangle.

adding their areas, is the area of the prism,

\bf \stackrel{two~triangles}{2\left[\cfrac{1}{2}(4)(1.5)  \right]}+\stackrel{left-right~rectangles}{2(6\cdot 2.5)}+\stackrel{bottom~rectangle}{4\cdot 6}

Find the area of the shaded region in the simplest form
balandron [24]

Answer:

A = 24t² + 2t

Step-by-step explanation:

The shaded area (A) is calculated as

A = area of outer square - area of rectangle

   = (5t)² - t(t - 2)

   = 25t² - t² + 2t

    = 24t² + 2t
