P = 2w + 2l where w is the width, and l is the length. We know the length (l) is 3 inches longer than it's width (or l = w+3). Substitute w +3 into Perimeter equation. P = 2w + 2(w+3).

A candle maker adds lemon oil to wax to make the lemon-scented candle shown. How many ounces of oil will he need for the candle
Neko [114]

Answer:

The ounces of oil needed is 5 ounces of oil

Step-by-step explanation:

The first thing to do here is to calculate the volume of the lemon-scented candle given.

Looking at shape the volume can be calculated using the formula L * B * H

where L(length) = 10cm , B(breadth) = 8cm and Height(h) = 25cm

The volume V is thus = 10 * 8 * 25 = 2,000 cm^3

The ounces of oil needed for the candle to have 0.0025 ounces of oil per cm^3 of wax will be = The volume of the lemon-scented candle * 0.0025 ounces of oil per cm^3 of wax

That will be = 0.0025 * 2,000 = 5 ounces

A 1-dollar bill is 6.14 inches long, 2.61 inches wide, and 0.0043 inch thick.
Fiesta28 [93]
The area of the classroom is 8,671 in squared. you get this by multiplying base x height x width. You plug the same formula into the dollars he mentions and get 0.06890922 in squared. Than you divide the classroom dimensions by the dollar dimentions. that's 8,671 ÷ 0.06890922 = 125,832.21809795. rounding that to one decimal place, it would take $125,832.2 to fill up the classroom. (I might have gotten this wrong but I think this is the answer)
