Answer:

See below

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Colloid

B) Microscopic insoluble particles that are suspended throughout another substance.

Milk is a colloid. It consists of small fat globules suspended in water.

2. Emulsion

D) Two or more liquids that are not normally mixable.

Mayonnaise is an emulsion. It consists of oil, egg yolks, vinegar, and seasonings. Normally, the oil and vinegar (95 % water) do not mix. Without the egg yolk , they would quickly separate. Egg yolk contains the emulsifier, lecithin, which is attracted to both oil and water and stabilizes he mixture.

3. Solution

A) A solute that is evenly distributed within the solvent.

Sugar syrup is a solution of sugar in water.

4)Homogeneous

C) A mixture that has its components distributed evenly within the substance.

A homogeneous mixture has only one phase. For example, the sugar syrup is homogeneous, because, even with a powerful microscope, you can't see a boundary between the sugar particles and the water.

Predict whether ΔS° is greater than, less than, or approximately zero for each of the following reactions, and explain your choi
inna [77]

Answer:

Explanation:

Entropy -

In a system, the randomness is measured by the term entropy .

Randomness basically refers as a form of energy that can not be used for any work.

The change in entropy is given by amount heat per change in temperature.

  • When solid is converted to gas entropy increases,

As the molecules in solid state are tightly packed and has more force of attraction between the molecules, but as it is converted to gas, the force of attraction between the molecule decreases and hence entropy increases.

So,

The particles of the substance , if are tightly held by strong force of attraction will decrease the entropy ,

And

If the particles are loosely held , the entropy will increase .

  • If in a reaction , more number of gaseous atoms are present in the product side , entropy will increase , i.e. Δ°S > 0
  • When liquid is converted to solid entropy decreases,

As the molecules in liquid state are loosely packed and has less force of attraction between the molecules, but as it is converted to solid, the force of attraction between the molecule increases and hence entropy decreases.

  • If in a reaction , less number of gaseous atoms are present in the product side , entropy will decrease , i.e. Δ°S < 0

From the question ,

( a )  NH₃(g) + 5 O₂(g) → 4 NO(g) + 6 H₂O(g)

Gaseous atoms -

Reactant - 1 + 5 = 6

Product - 4 + 6 = 10 ,

Hence ,

More number of gaseous atoms are present in the product side , So ,

entropy will increase , i.e. Δ°S > 0

( b ) CH₄(g) + 2 O₂(g) → CO₂(g) + 2 H₂O(g)

Gaseous atoms -

Reactant - 1 + 2 = 3

Product - 1 + 2 = 3 ,

Since ,

Both the side the value of gaseous atoms are , hence , Δ°S = 0 .

( c ) CaCO₃(s) → CaO(s) + CO₂(g)

Gaseous atoms -

Reactant = 0

Product - 0 + 1 = 1 ,

Since ,

Hence ,

More number of gaseous atoms are present in the product side , So ,

entropy will increase , i.e. Δ°S > 0

Answer:

By measuring it's Radical velocity using Doppler Phenomenon...

Explanation:

It is done by measuring the absorption spectrum produces by a star as a result of measuring Doppler's relative wavelength. The star with the lower speed must have lower absorption spectrum extent as compared to the faster one.

Marcela dissolves 80.0 g of ammonium nitrate in 50.0 mL of water at room temperature and notes that the temperature of the solut
seraphim [82]

Answer: The correct answer is A

Explanation:

On addition of the ammonium nitrate to 50 ml of water the temperature decreases which means that reaction between the ammonium nitrate and water is an endothermic reaction. The value of \Delta H is positive for an endothermic reactions.

\Delta H>0

Entropy is a degree of randomness of the system.

On addition of the ammonium nitrate to water ammonium nitrate break down into ions which means that entropy is increased.

\Delta S>0

\Delta G=\Delta H-T\Delta S (Gibb's free energy)

Since, ammonium nitrate is getting dissolved in water which means that this reaction is spontaneous and \Delta G of spontaneous reaction is negative that is:

\Delta G
