An automobile is traveling on a long, straight highway at a steady 76.0 mi/h when the driver sees a wreck 180 m ahead. at that i
masha68 [24]

a) The car’s speed just after leaving the icy portion of the road is the first part

We have s = ut +\frac{1}{2} at^2

Here s = 130 m, a = -1.2 m/s^2, u = 76 mile/hr = 33.975 m/s

             130 = 0*t - 0.5*(-1.2)*t^2\\ \\ \\ t=14.72 seconds

After 14.72 seconds cars speed is given by v =u +at

                                                          u = 33.975m/s, a = -1.2 m/s^2

                                                      v = 33.975-1.2*14.72 = 16.31 m/s

   So velocity of car on leaving icy surface = 16.31 m/s

b) Time taken after icy surface

              0 = 16.31 - 7.10*t

              t = 2.23 seconds

         Distance traveled during this time

                   v^2 = u^2+2as\\ \\ 0 = 16.31^2 - 2*7.10*s\\ \\ s = 18.74 m

   Total distance traveled = 130+18.74 = 148.74 m

c) Total time taken = 14.72+2.23=16.95 seconds

Explain in detail how educational institutions and personal ideology affect the influence of contemporary psychological
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

Educational institutions can influence what psychological perspectives are taught, studied, and researched. Take, for example, behaviorism. Before the cognitive perspective re-emerged, behaviorism was the dominant perspective being taught in most universities. Personal ideology can also affect which perspective a psychologist supports, the course of research a psychologist undertakes, and also a psychologist's perception and interpretation of research findings. For example, during the dominance of behaviorism, psychologists were discouraged from studying cognitive processes. As a result, much of the research conducted had a behaviorist slant to it.

Normal conversation in an office produces a decibel rating of 50 db. how many identical voices could you add without exceeding a
o-na [289]
100000
    Decibel (dB) is a logarithmic scale of power. Depending upon if you're looking for power, or root power a change in the power by a factor of 10 will be 10dB, or 20dB. Since this question is asking about "sound intensity" it's looking for a power factor, not a root-power factor (which would be the case for sound pressure). So we're looking for a 50 dB increase (100 dB - 50 dB) = 50 dB which means that we're wanting 10^5 = 100,000 times as much power. Assuming each identical voice contributes the same amount of power, you'd have 100,000 (one hundred thousand) voices talking at once for a sound intensity of 100 dB.
