Answer:

Solid ionic compounds do not conduct electricity because the ions are held firmly in place. The ions cannot move to conduct the electric current. But when an ionic compound melts, the charged ions are free to move. Therefore, molten ionic compounds do conduct electricity.

What is the mass of 3.01 x 10^21 atoms of Co
OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

0.295 g Co

General Formulas and Concepts:

<u>Chemistry - Atomic Structure</u>

  • Reading a Periodic Table
  • Using Dimensional Analysis
  • Avogadro's Number - 6.022 × 10²³ atoms, molecules, formula units, etc.

Explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define</u>

3.01 × 10²¹ atoms Co

<u>Step 2: Identify Conversions</u>

Avogadro's Number

Molar Mass of Co - 58.93 g/mol

<u>Step 3: Convert</u>

<u />3.01 \cdot 10^{21} \ atoms \ Co(\frac{1 \ mol \ Co}{6.022 \cdot 10^{23} \ atoms \ Co} )(\frac{58.93 \ g \ Co}{1 \ mol \ Co} ) = 0.294552 g Co

<u>Step 4: Check</u>

<em>We are given 3 sig figs. Follow sig fig rules and round.</em>

0.294552 g Co ≈ 0.295 g Co

Explain why electrical charges flow from one atom to another?
N76 [4]

Answer:

Any conductor (thing that electricity can go through) is made of atoms. Each atom has electrons in it. If you put new electrons in a conductor, they will join atoms, and each atom will deliver an electron to the next atom. This next atom takes in the electron and sends out another one on the other side.

Define energy conservation.
Reil [10]
Energy conservation is the effort made to reduce the consumption of energy by using less of an energy service. This can be achieved either by using energy more efficiently or by reducing the amount of service used. Energy conservation is a part of the concept of Eco-sufficiency

How many moles of NH4NO3(s) must be dissolved in water so that 73.0 kJ of heat is absorbed from the water? (The molar heat of so
SCORPION-xisa [38]
1 mole of NH4NO3 requires absorption of 25.7 kJ/mol.
Therefore; 1 kJ of heat energy is absorbed by dissolving 1/25.7 moles of NH4NO3.
Hence; For an energy of 73.0 kJ to be absorbed the moles of NH4NO3 that dissolves will be;
 = (1/25.7 × 73)
 = 2.84 moles
Hence; 73 kJ is absorbed by dissolving 2.84 moles of NH4NO3.

Which produces wave particles that move and displace one another? A) a radio B) a guitar C) a light bulb D) a microwave oven
Semmy [17]
The answer is B. A guitar generally produces sound waves that propagate when the strings are strummed. The strings are displaced through the vibrations caused by contact of the hand and the guitar. You will also notice the vibrations by looking closely to the string. Wave particles continuously collide with each other to make a sustaining or prolonging sound.
