Marco bought 5 movies for $53. 10. Vance bought 3 movies for $31. 71. Who got the better deal?
kozerog [31]

Answer: Vance.

Step-by-step explanation: Vance got the better deal. this is because Marco bought 5 movies, and paid $53.10. Vance paid $31.71, and saved $2.50, because 53.10 rounds to 50, and 31.71 rounds to 30, and Vance added $1.71, and Marco added $3.10, making Vance get the better deal.

Answer the following questions CORRECTLY I will know if this is wrong. I WILL REPORT ANY INCORRECT ANSWERS!
andriy [413]

remember that you can do anything to an equation as long as you do it to both sides

remember the distributive property: a(b+c)=ab+ac

also commutative property of addition: a+b=b+a

so

6(6x-2)+8(1-5x)=2x

distribute

6(6x-2)=6(6x)+6(-2)=36x-12

8(1-5x)=8(1)+8(-5x)=8-40x

36x-12+8-40x=2x

group like terms

36x-40x-12+8=2x

add like terms

-4x-4=2x

add 4x to both sides to get x by itself

4x-4x-4=2x+4x

0-4=6x

-4=6x

divide both sides by 6

-4/6=(6x)/6

-2/3=x(6/6)

-2/3=x(1)

-2/3=x

x=-2/3

the solution is x=-2/3

Calculate the value of A to one decimal place
WINSTONCH [101]

Okay, you will need to use the law of cosines for this problem.

The Law of Cosines states (in this case): a^2 = b^2 + c^2 - 2 * b * c * cos A, where "a" is the side opposite angle A (7 inches), and b and c are the other two sides.

Plug the numbers in and you get: 7^2 = 5^2 + 9^2 - 2 * 5 * 9 * cos A, or:

49 = 25 + 81 - 90 * cos A.

Subtract (25 + 81) from both sides to get:

-57 = -90 * cos A.

Divide by -90 on both sides:

cos A = 19/30

To find A, you do the inverse trigonometric function to get:

cos^-1 of (19/30) = A.

I don't have a calculator that can do this right now, but if you plug the left side of the above equation into it (make sure it is in degrees, not radians), you should get A.

There are 1,800 pastries in a bakery shop. 45% of them are pretzels and the rest are croissants. How many croissants are there?
blondinia [14]

Answer: There are 990 croissants

Step-by-step explanation:

If 45% of them are pretzels then 55% of the pastries hs to be croissants.

Multiply 55% by the total number of pastries to find the number of croissants.

55% * 1,800 =  990
