The Halogens; Alkaline earth metals group (A) tends to have the highest ionization energy while the Alkali metals group tends to have the lowest ionization energy. Ionization energy is the energy required to move an electron from orbiting around an atom until it is no longer associated with the atom. The position of elements on the periodic table indicates the level of ionization energy. The ionization energy of an element increases when you move across a period in the periodic table This is because the electrons are held together with a stronger bond than others.

How many molecules of liquid ethanol (CH3H2OH) are in 1.00 mL of ethanol, given its density is 0.789 g/mL?
Arisa [49]
To get the molecules contained in liquid ethanol, we multiply the density to the given volume, that is equal to 0.789 g ethanol. In this case, we divide by molar mass and multiply by the constant, Avogadro's number. The answer is 1.033 x 10^22 molecules.

I have a free response question due for an Ap Chemistry class. It states, an experiment is to be performed to determine the mass
34kurt

Answer:

Hi AP Chemistry student. It seems this experiment is impossible. Sterling Silver cannot be separated so easily with this pathetic equipment. However, if one were to carry this experiment out, I would assume they would need to put the alloy in the graduated cylinder and then somehow filter the silver out through filter paper or Buchner funnel. taking the mass with a stir rod is also helpful for the mass percent calculation. I hope this helps you out, good luck in Mrs. Fischer's class :)
