Explanation:

No temperature change occurs from heat transfer if ice melts and becomes liquid water (i.e., during a phase change). For example, consider water dripping from icicles melting on a roof warmed by the Sun. Conversely, water freezes in an ice tray cooled by lower-temperature surroundings.

Nitrogen gas in an expandable container is cooled from 45.0 C to 12.3 C with the pressure held constant at 2.58 ∗ 105 Pa. The to
Tresset [83]

Answer:

The number of moles of the gas is: -27.14 mole

the charge in internal energy of the gas is -1.84 × 10⁴ J.

The work done by the gas is 4.42 × 10⁴ J

The heat liberated by the gas for the same temperature change while the volume was constant and is same as the change in internal energy.

As such ; Q = -1.84 × 10⁴ J.

Explanation:

The expression for the number of moles of a gas at constant pressure is as follows:

\mathbf{n = \frac{Q}{Cp \Delta T}}

\mathbf{n = \frac{Q}{Cp (T_2-T_1)}}

where ;

C_p is the specific heat at constant pressure of Nitrogen gas which is = 29.07 J/mol/K

Since heat is liberated from the gas ; then:

n = \dfrac{-2.58*10^4 }{29.07(45-12.3)}

n = -27.14 mole

The number of moles of the gas is: -27.14 mole

b) The expression to be used in order to determine the change internal energy is:

dU = nCv \Delta T

where ;

n= 27.14 mole

Cv = specific heat at constant volume of Nitrogen gas = 20.76 J/mol/K

ΔT = (12.3-45)

So;

dU = (27.14)(20.76)(12.3-45)

dU = 563.426(-32.7)

dU = -18424.04328

dU = -1.84 × 10⁴ J

Thus; the charge in internal energy of the gas is -1.84 × 10⁴ J.

c)  The workdone by the gas can be calculated as;

W = Q - ΔU

W = 2.58 × 10⁴ J - (-1.84 × 10⁴ J )

W = 2.58  × 10⁴ J + 1.84  × 10⁴ J

W = 4.42 × 10⁴ J

The work done by the gas is 4.42 × 10⁴ J

d) The expression to calculated the work done is given as:

W = pdV

since the volume is given as constant ; then dV = 0

so;

W = p(0)

W = 0

Replacing 0 for W in the equation W = Q - Δ U

0 = Q - ΔU

-Q = - ΔU

Q = ΔU

Thus , the heat liberated by the gas for the same temperature change while the volume was constant and is same as the change in internal energy.

As such ; Q = -1.84 × 10⁴ J.

30% of 107.75 g is 32.325g so there are about 8.08125 mol of He which is

70% of 107.75 g is 75.425g so there are about .9 mol of Kr which is
5.42 x 10^23 paticles
In the whole sample, there are about 5.41 x 10^24 particles

How many people are on the island that has 4 turtles?
kirill115 [55]

There are 3/400 people on the island.

Given:

There are 4 turtles on the island.

To find:

The number of people on the island.

Solution:

Number of turtles = 4

30 turtles =1 anchor\\\\1 turtle= \frac{1}{30}\\\\4 turtles = 4\times \frac{1}{30} anchors= \frac{4}{30} anchors\\\\1 monkey = 100 anchors\\\\1 anchor=\frac{1}{100} monkey\\\\ \frac{4}{30} anchors= \frac{4}{30} anchors\times \frac{1}{100} =\frac{4}{3000} monkeys\\\\

1 monkey = 30 palm trees\\\\ \frac{4}{3000} monkeys=\frac{4}{3000}\times 30 \text{palm trees}=\frac{4}{100}\text{palm trees}\\\\12 pineapples = 1 \text{palm trees}\\\\\frac{4}{100}\text{palm trees}=12\times \frac{4}{100}pineapples=\frac{48}{100} pineapples\\\\

20 ducks = 32 pineapples\\\\1 pineapple=\frac{20}{32} ducks\\\\\frac{48}{100} pineapples=\frac{20}{32} \times\frac{48}{100} ducks=\frac{960}{3200} ducks\\\\40 ducks = 0.5 lizards\\\\1 duck = \frac{0.5}{40} lizards\\\\

\frac{960}{3200} ducks= \frac{0.5}{40} \times\frac{960}{3200} lizards=\frac{480}{128,000}lizards\\\\1 lizard = 4 \text{foot prints}\frac{480}{128,000}lizards=4\times \frac{480}{128,000}\text{foot prints}=\frac{1920}{128,000} \text{foot prints}\\\\1 foot print = 1eye\\\\

\frac{1920}{128,000} \text{foot prints}=1\times \frac{1920}{128,000} eye= \frac{1920}{128,000} eye\\\\1 hand = 1 eye\\\\ \frac{1920}{128,000} eye=1\times \frac{1920}{128,000} hand= \frac{1920}{128,000} hands\\\\1 person = 2 hands\\\\

1 hand =\frac{1}{2} persons\\\\\frac{1920}{128,000} hands=\frac{1}{2}\times \frac{1920}{128,000} persons=\frac{960}{128,000} persons\\\\=\frac{3}{400} persons

There are 3/400 people on the island.
