Suppose you wish to jump horizontally and in order for you to jump a distance of 4 feet horizontally, you must exert a force of

200 N. When you are standing on the ground, you have no trouble jumping 4 feet horizontally. If you are standing in a canoe, however, and you need to jump 4 feet to reach the pier, you will surely fall into the lake. Why is it that you cannot jump 4 feet out of a canoe when you can easily do this when on land?

How much energy is added to change 180g of liquid water to gas at 100 degrees Celsius
Finger [1]

Answer:

40.7 kJ

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for the heat, q, needed to evaporate a liquid is

q = mΔHvap

Data:

        m = 180 g

ΔHvap = 2260 J/g

Calculation:

q = 180 g × 2260 /1

q = 40 700 J = 40.7 kJ

What is the partial pressure of argon, par, in the flask? express your answer to three significant figures and include the appro
monitta
Given which are missing in your question:
the flask is filled with 1.45 g of argon at 25 C°
So according to this formula (Partial pressure):
PV= nRT
first, we need n, and we can get by substitution by:
n =  1.45/mass weight of argon
   = 1.45 / 39.948 = 0.0363 mol of Ar
we have R constant = 0.0821
and T in kelvin = 25 + 273 = 298
and V = 1 L
∴ P * 1 = 0.0363* 0.0821 * 298 = 0.888 atm
