Mathematics
1 answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

When it says y varies directly with x it just means that y and x are proportional/equal to each other. The constant of variation and the constant of proportionality are the same thing just different way of saying it so they can confuse you and make your life miserable. Since y and x are proportional to each other and the constant of proportionalty is -5 to make an equation that represents a line you use the formula y=mx+b. That is the slope of the line. With that formula let's first plus in the x so we have y=m2+b. The formula for direct variation is y=kx as well that's good to know and it's good to memorize all these formulas. Math becaomes easier when you have the process down pat and you just need to plug numbers into different equations, expressions, and scenarios. Do m = [y1 - y2] / [x1 - x2] and you'll get the answer.

Please answer the question in the photo, thanks!
belka [17]

Answer:

\therefore 2\dfrac{1}{3}  \div \left ( -3\dfrac{2}{3} \right ) = -\dfrac{7}{11}

Step-by-step explanation:

The question relates to dividing a fraction by proper and another fraction

The given expression is presented as follows;

2\dfrac{1}{3}  \div \left ( -3\dfrac{2}{3} \right )

We rearrange the fractions as improper  fractions for easier division as follows;

2\dfrac{1}{3}  = \dfrac{7}{3}

-3\dfrac{2}{3} = -\dfrac{11}{3}

Therefore, we have;

2\dfrac{1}{3}  \div \left ( -3\dfrac{2}{3} \right ) = \dfrac{7}{3} \div \left (-\dfrac{11}{3} \right ) = \dfrac{7}{3} \times \left (\dfrac{1}{-\dfrac{11}{3} } \right ) = \dfrac{7}{3} \div \left (-\dfrac{3}{11} \right ) =-\dfrac{7}{11}

\therefore 2\dfrac{1}{3}  \div \left ( -3\dfrac{2}{3} \right ) = -\dfrac{7}{11}

Add. <br> (−2+6x^3−3x^2)+(4x^3−5+x^2)
Gemiola [76]

Answer:

10x^3 - 2x^2 -7

Step-by-step explanation:

To subtract polynomials, you want to subtract the biggest exponent from the first polynomial to the second

so 6x^3 + 4x^3 and that would be 10x^3

then -3x^2 + x^2 and the negative is larger so it would be -2x^2

and finally -2 + -5 and that is -7

hope this helps! :)
