I’m assuming you know complex numbers,

That’s the principle square root, so it’s going to be positive.

Sqrt(-38) = sqrt(-1)*sqrt(2)*sqrt(19)

Sqrt(-38) = isqrt(38)

Where i^2 = -1

You could break up 38 into 2 times 19, but that makes it messier.

What is the slope of a line parallel to the line containing (-6,1) and (3,-2)
timama [110]

Answer:

m = -\frac{3}{9}

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the following formula:

slope: m = (y_{2} - y_{1})/(x_{2} - x_{1})

Let:

(x_{1} , y_{1}) = (-6 , 1)\\ (x_{2} , y_ {2}) = (3 , -2)\\

Plug in the corresponding numbers to the corresponding variables:

m = \frac{-2 - 1}{3 - (-6)}\\\\m = \frac{-3}{3 + 6}\\\\m = \frac{-3}{9}

m = -\frac{3}{9} is your answer.

den301095 [7]

Answer:

The price of an adult ticket is $9 and the price of a student ticket is $6

Step-by-step explanation:

Create a system of equations where x is the price of an adult ticket and y is the price of a student ticket:

2x + 7y = 60

3x + 11y = 93

Solve by elimination by multiplying the top equation by 3 and the bottom equation by -2, to cancel out the x terms:

6x + 21y = 180

-6x - 22y = -186

Add them together:

-y = -6

y = 6

Then, plug in 6 as y into one of the equations to solve for x:

2x + 7y = 60

2x + 7(6) = 60

2x + 42 = 60

2x = 18

x = 9

So, the price of an adult ticket is $9 and the price of a student ticket is $6
