Food can be made to heat quicker by cutting into small pieces. This is because, heat is transferred more evenly.

Caning refers to a method of food preservation in which food is placed in jars and heated with the aim of destroying the microorganisms in the food. It is one of the great methods of preventing spoilage of food.

Since heat is more evenly transferred when the mass is smaller, cutting up the food into smaller pieces before heating will cause the food to heat quicker. Finally, the following are true regarding caning;

 • smaller jars heat faster
 • smaller pieces of food heat quicker
 • foods containing more liquid

Stella [2.4K]

Deciding whether a study will compare different groups of individuals or examine changes within the same group of individuals involves a decision about the research design.

Explanation:

Behavioral research studies about patterns and their variables of individual and social behavior of a person with response to stimuli (internal or external)

A research design essentially is the blueprint of the research that integrates and interlinks various research components like evidence and data collection, measurements undertaken, analysis and the interpretations made in a coherent, logical and comprehensive way.

Decision about the type of comparison group in group experimental researches is taken during research design to decide about how the comparison should be made to obtain the correct results. It can be compared with an individual to a group, or a control group against an experimental group.

The pattern changes in each group is studied based on the independent variables which changes in the experimental group and is fixed or constant in a control group.

What causes chronic strains?
cricket20 [7]

Twisting or pulling a muscle or tendon can result in a strain. It can also be caused by a single instance of improper lifting or by over stressing the back muscles. A chronic strain usually results from overuse involving prolonged, repetitive movement of the muscles and tendons. In addition, there are several factors that put a person at greater risk for a back strain or sprain, including excessively curving the lower back, being overweight, having weak back or abdominal muscles, and tight hamstrings (muscles in the back of the thighs). Playing sports that involve pushing and pulling—such as weightlifting and football—also increases the risk of a low-back injury. Chronic strains happen slowly over time from prolonged, repetitive overuse of muscles. Chronic strains develop from using the same muscle groups in the same pattern, causing even small stresses to build on one another. Causes of chronic strain include:

Improper body mechanics or using the wrong muscle groups for a task, such as repeatedly lifting heavy objects using your back instead of your legs

Improper sports mechanics or techniques, such as habitually gripping a tennis racket too tightly or an incorrect golf swing

Participation in the same exercises in the same way, day after day

Poor posture

Use of the wrong equipment, such as running shoes without the proper support for your foot type

Furkat [3]
Conventional wisdom holds that a baby's height, weight, and head circumference should be in the same percentile. While that's often the case, don't fret if your baby's percentiles seem out of whack.
