The maximum mass of a load that can be lifted by the jack and the distance covered are:

m = 160.2 Kg

h = 25 cm

Given that a certain hydraulic jack is used for lifting load. a force of 250N is applied on a small piston with a diameter of 80cm while the diameter of the larger piston is 2.0m.

The parameters given are

F_{1} = 250

A_{1} = Area of the small piston = πr^{2}

A_{1} = 22/7 x 0.4^{2}

A_{1} = 0.5 m^{2}

F_{2} = ?

A_{2} = Area of the large piston = πr^{2}

A_{2} = π x 1

A_{2} = 3.14 m^{2}

To calculate the force on the large piston, we will use the below formula

F_{1}/ A_{1} = F_{2} / A_{2}

Substitute all the parameters into the equation

250/0.5 =  F_{2}/3.14

F_{2} = 1570 N

To calculate the maximum mass of a load that can be lifted by the jack, let us apply Newton second law

F = mg

1570 = 9.8m

m = 1570/9.8

m = 160.2 Kg

.(take g=9.81ms^-2)

If the applied force moves through a distance of 25cm, the distance through which the load is lifted will be

F_{1}/ 0.25A_{1} = F_{2} / A_{2}h

250/0.125 = 1570/3.14h

make h the subject of the formula

6280h = 1570

h = 1570/6280

h = 0.25 m

Therefore, the distance through which the load is lifted is 25 cm

Assume that the pictured magnet is being moved into the solenoid. If the polarity of the magnet is reversed and then moved into
KonstantinChe [14]

Answer:

The direction of induced emf is revered and hence the direction of the induced current.

Explanation:

If the polarity of the magnet is reversed, the direction if the field lines through the solenoid is also reversed, which according to Faraday's law means

\varepsilon  =N\dfrac{d\Phi}{dt} \rightarrow -N\dfrac{d\Phi}{dt}

in other words, the direction of the magnetic flux is revered, and therefore, the direction of the induced emf is also revered.

Furthermore, according to Ohm's law

I = \dfrac{\varepsilon}{R}

which tells us that if the induced emf changes sign <em>(is reversed)</em>

I = -\dfrac{\varepsilon}{R}

the direction of the induced current is also reversed.

A proton is placed at point A, where the electric potential is 100 V . The proton is released from rest. Some time later, the p
kap26 [50]

To develop this problem it is necessary to apply the concepts related to electromagnetic energy and Broglie's hypothesis.

By definition we know that the electrical energy of a proton can be expressed as

E = qV

Where,

q = Charge of proton

V = Voltage

Replacing with our values

E = qV

E = (1.6*10^{-19})(220) \rightarrow It is necessary to add the two potentials

E = 4.224*10^{-17}J

From Broglie's hypothesis we know that the wavelength is given by

\lambda = \frac{h}{P}

Where,

h = Planck's constant

p = Momentum

The momentum of a particle can be expressed in terms of energy, that is,

P = \sqrt{E*2m}

Where,

m = mass

E = Energy (potential or kinetic)

Therefore replacing this value at lambda,

\lambda = \frac{h}{\sqrt{E*2m}}

\lambda = \frac{6.625*10^{-34}}{\sqrt{(4.224*10^{-17})*2(1.67*10^{-27})}}

\lambda = 1.763*10^{-12}m

Freight trains can produce only relatively small accelerations and decelerations. What is the final velocity of a freight train
inn [45]

Answer:

Final speed of the train, v = 168.61 m/s

Explanation:

It is given that,

Acceleration of the train, a=0.71\ m/s^2

Time taken, t = 3.85 min = 231 s

Initial velocity of the train, u = 4.6 m/s

We need to find the final velocity (v) of the train. It can be calculated using first equation of motion as :

v=u+at

v=4.6+0.71\times 231

v = 168.61 m/s

So, the final velocity of the train is 168.61 m/s. Hence, this is the required solution.
