The statement that: pairs of corresponding points lie on parallel lines in a reflection, is false.

What are reflections?

When a point is reflected, then the point is flipped across a point or line of reflection

When a point is reflected, the following highlights are possible

 • The corresponding points can line on the same line
 • The corresponding points can line on parallel lines

Using the above highlights, we can conclude that the statement is false.

This is so because, corresponding points are not always on parallel lines

TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

The length of a rectangle is 2 feet more than it's width. How do you find the dimensions of the rectangle if its area is 63 square feet?

Step-by-step explanation:

x(x+2) = 63

x^2 + 2x = 63

x^2 + 2x - 63 = 0

Quadratic formula with numbers plugged in: (-2 +or- sqrt(4 - 4* 1 * -63))/2 becomes

-2 +or- sqrt(256)/2 so (-2 +or- 16)/2 therefore -18/2 or 14/2. Discard negative result.

x = 7. 63/7=9. Sides are 7ft and 9ft.

Given:

The distance (in kilometers) Dora hiked is modeled as a function of time.

We need to determine the average rate of change in distance hiked, measured in kilometers per hour, between 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Average rate of change:

Let us write the time and the distance hiked in coordinates for the time 8:30 am and 1:30 pm.

Thus, the coordinates are (8.30, 4) and (1,12)

The average rate of change can be determined using the formula,

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Substituting the points (8.30, 4) and (1.30,12), we get;

m=\frac{12-4}{1.30-8.30}

m=\frac{8}{-7}

m=-1.14

Rounding off to the nearest whole number, we get;

m=-1

Therefore, the average rate of change is -1.

What is the result of the first step when simplifying 13-4(x-5)
Maksim231197 [3]
I don't really get this question but simply put, if you are in college syntax matters very much. (13-4) = 9 *(x-5) = 9x-45.. although in this case. since there isn't a bracket around 13-4. you'd multiply by the -4 first, giving you, 4x-20+30 =4x-10

What is the difference between stem and leaf plot and dot plot?
antiseptic1488 [7]

Stem-and-Leaf-plot represents data by separating each value into two parts. Dot plot uses a graph in which each data value is plotted as a point along a horizontal scale of values. The difference is Dot Plots use graphs to organize data and Stem-and-Leaf plot separates the data into two parts
