Hey!

So the first thing you want to do is put the line that you are given in slope-intercept form so that we can find the slope of the line parallel to it. Two lines that are parallel will always have the same slope. So lets start by changing the format of the equation:

-3x + 4y = 4

4y = 3x + 4

y = (3/4)x + 1

Now that we have the equation in slope-intercept form we can see that the slope of the line parallel to this is 3/4. So we already know the slope of the line and a point on the line. We can now plug this point into the equation y = mx + b. Since we also know the slope we can plug that in as well.

0 = (3/4)(4) + b

0 = 3 + b

-3 = b

Now that we know the y-intercept you can plug that and the slope into the y=mx + b equation to get your answer:

y = (3/4)x - 3

Could you please help me!?
Alinara [238K]

Answer:

Answer: 42.5

Step-by-step explanation:

It says 1 inch equals 5 feet. So, every inch is on the map is an extra 5 feet in real space. So if you think about it, all this is is a simple multiplication problem.

Here is the math:

8.5 * 5 = 42.5

Think about it, for every inch there is on the map there is an extra 5 feet in real space. There is 8 inches, so we need 5 extra feet for each of those 8 inches. So what we get for 1 inch is 5 feet, for 2 inches 10 feet, 3 inches 15 feet, etc etc until we reach 8 inches. For the 0.5 inches alone that would equal 2.5 feet in real life since 1 inch is 5 feet.

You can only draw one unique isosceles triangle that contains an angle of 55°?
blsea [12.9K]

-- If the 55° angle is one of the two equal angles, then
the third angle is 70° .

-- If the 55° angle is the third angle, then each of the two
equal angles is 62.5° .

-- For either of these cases, there are an infinite number
of possible sets of side-lengths.

The statement in the question does not hold water.

HELP ASAP PLEASE!
Genrish500 [490]

Step-by-step explanation:

lets take a look....

In order to find the perimeter of a triangle you have to get the sum of all sides. In other words,

Blue triangle:

p = (4x +2) + (7x + 7) + (5x  - 4) \\ p = 4x + 2 + 7x + 7 + 5x - 4 \\ p = 16x + 5

Red triangle:

p = (x + 3) + (2x - 5) + (x + 7) \\ p = x + 3 + 2x - 5 + x + 7 \\ p = 4x + 5

Difference:

d = (16x + 5) - (4x + 5) \\ d = 16x + 5 - 4x - 5 = 12x \\ d = 12x
