Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology that argues that the human needs are organized in a hierarchy, having to be fulfilled on a crescent level, a lower level must be completely satisfied and fulfilled before moving onto a higher pursuit.
The five levels are Physiological needs; Safety Needs, Social belonging; Self-Esteem and Self-actualization.
Thus, Self-actualization is the highest level, being summarized in the sentence: "What a man can be, he must be."
This could be seen as an example of the dysfunction of families. <em />The children who grow up in dysfunctional families are more likely to act as their parents or even in some cases act even more harshly than their parents. The family is consider dysfunctional when a negative behaviors are repeated constantly.
The people of Sparta believe that Military strength is better meaning more important than Educational Development. They have reasons for this such as Sparta is a very small population of people so they are a very good target for war, so they are more likely to get attacked. So they need military to train to protect there small population. <span />
