Answer:

50,000

Step-by-step explanation:

1st car had $1,750 tax

2nd car has $3,500 tax

1750(2) = 3500

so your tax doubled so the price must be doubled.

The car is $50,000

Algebraically using direct variation:

t = kp    where t=tax, p = purchase price,

             and k is constant of variation

1750 = 25000k

k = 1750/25000

k = 0.07

Your equation is:  t = 0.07p

3500 = 0.07p

p = 3500/0.07

p = $50,000

Matt plans to put concrete on a rectangular portion of his driveway. The portion is 8 feet long and 4 inches high. The price of
kakasveta [241]

Answer:

The width of the yard is approximately 6 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet. Then we must find the number of cubic yards.

So we know for 1 cubic yard = $98

And for "x" cubic yard = $58.07

1/x =98/58.07

x = 0.5925

After we figure this out we need to convert this into cubic feet

1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet

0.5925 cubic yard = x cubic feet

1/0.5925= 27/x

x = 15 .99 cubic feet

So,

width x height x length = 16 cubic feet

w x 8 x (1/3) = 16

w = 48/8 = 6 feet

So:

The answer is:

The width of the yard is approximately 6 feet.

Hope this helps, have a good day. c;
