Answer:

13

Step-by-step explanation:

Write an equation setting the lengths equal to each other.

5x + 3 = 2x + 9

Move the variable (x) to one side. I'm going to subtract 2x from both sides.

5x - 2x + 3 = 2x - 2x + 9

3x + 3 = 9

Subtract 3 from both sides

3x +3 - 3 = 9 - 3

3x = 6

Divide both sides by 3

3x/3 = 6/3

x = 2

Now use 2x + 9 to find the length of EG by substituting 2 in for x.

2x + 9

2(2) + 9

4 + 9

13

You could also use 5x + 3 to find the length of EG by substituting 2 in for x.

X over 45 - 7 over 9. X = ?
Degger [83]

Answer:

X=35

Step-by-step explanation:

simplify 7/9

x/45-7/9=0

simplify x/45

x - (7 • 5)/45=  x - 35/45

x-35/45=0

add 35  to both sides

x=35

I tried it's hard to write it all out on here i just to give u the best sorry :)

Consider the graph of the linear function h(x) = –x + 5. Which could you change to move the graph down 3 units?
Yakvenalex [24]
I don't see a b or an m in this function, but generally, a linear function is of the form ax+b. The b in this equation (not sure if it is the same as your b), controls the shift of the function. Lower b by 3, the graph shifts down by 3.

So unless there is a minus sign before b, it has to be lowered by 3. (If there is a minus sign, it has to be increased by 3).
