Calories are the energy in food. Your body has a constant demand for energy and uses the calories from food to keep functioning. Energy from calories fuels your every action, from fidgeting to marathon running.

Carbohydrates, fats and proteins are the types of nutrients that contain calories and are the main energy sources for your body. Regardless of where they come from, the calories you eat are either converted to physical energy or stored within your body as fat.

These stored calories will remain in your body as fat unless you use them up, either by reducing calorie intake so that your body must draw on reserves for energy, or by increasing physical activity so that you burn more calories.

Tipping the scale

Your weight is a balancing act, but the equation is simple: If you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight. And if you eat fewer calories and burn more calories through physical activity, you lose weight.

In general, if you cut 500 to 1,000 calories a day from your typical diet, you'll lose about 1 pound (0.5 kilogram) a week.

It sounds simple. However, it's more complex because when you lose weight, you usually lose a combination of fat, lean tissue and water. Also, because of changes that occur in the body as a result of weight loss, you may need to decrease calories further to continue weight loss.

Reflect on Miller and colleagues’ research on new graduate preparedness in working with electronic medical records (EMR). What c
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

EMRs are electronic medical records that is a digital version of a patient's paper chart, helps in proper documentation and makes information to be available to the patients

Explanation:

EMR is a digital version of a patient's paper chart, it involves the collection of the patient medical record and electronically store the health information in a electronic form that will can be used for clinical or administrative purpose instead of the traditional method. EMR takes the data such as the medical history, medications, diagnoses, allergies, immunization etc input into a software created for that purpose.

What challenges and benefits do you anticipate

EMRs offer tremendous benefits to improve productivity, quality, flexibility, save time in patients cares.

The benefit includes: Patient centeredness, safety, timeliness, accessibility, improved communication, efficiency and engagement etc.

With all the benefit EMRs face various challenges which affect it operations and implement by new graduate in working and interfacing with it:

Many new graduate experience physical burnout while working with EMR,

Employee resistance

Autonomy is another issue, between the graduate and the patients on how much information to gather,

Interoperability ,

Technicality in the software application,

Lack of training and communication,

Security gaps and regimentation.

Strategies to be implement to ensure a smooth transition in documentation while using the EMR?

To ensure a smooth transition while using EMR the following is needed:

Flexibility is required in transition from paper to digital records

Patient's cooperation and support important

Security ( especially cyber security) Data privacy

Ample training.

A gas mixture contains hbr, no2, and c2h6 at stp. if a tiny hole is made in the container, which gas will effuse fastest?
Svetllana [295]
This problem is solved by the law of effusion, which states that the rate of effusion is ~ 1/sqrt(molecular weight). Calculate the molecular weights of the different gases: HBr = 80.91 g/mol NO2 = 46.0055 g/mol C2H6 = 30.07 g/mol Thus, the approximate relative rates are HBr ~ 0.112, NO2 = 0.1474 and C2H6 = 0.1824. Answer: C2H6 effuses fastest.

The Iron Triangle depicts the idea that, in healthcare, as we move towards one side of the triangle, we move towards the other s
julia-pushkina [17]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

In healthcare, the concept of the Iron Triangle was proposed by William Kissick (1994), who indicated that healthcare policies have to face an important challenge. This challenge describes the complex relationships between three fundamental factors that form part of any health care system: quality, access, and costs. These three factors have the same priority, and the rise of one factor directly influences one or both remaining factors (i.e., we can not simultaneously improve quality, cost and access in a health care system). In consequence, the better association in a health care system is given by high access, high quality, and low costs.
