Answer:

x=4

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve for x, we need to isolate it.

Start by adding 16 to each side to cancel out the -16:

-x=-4

-x is essentially -1 * x which can be written as -1x

-1x=-4

Divide both sides by -1 to isolate x

x=4

We can also plug this back into the equation to check:

-16-x=-20

-16-4=-20

-20=-20 --> correct!

Find the value of the variable What is x?
yaroslaw [1]

Answer:

x = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

I think there may be other ways to do this ... but this is one I guess....

one angle= 90 ( given)

the other = 45 (given)

the third = 90 + 45 + a = 180

(all angles of triangles is 180 [angle sum property])

                a = 180 - 135

                   = 45

The base angles are equal so that means it is a isoscles triangle. In isoscles triangle, two sides are equal , so

if one side is 7

the x is 7 too

(as it cant be the hypothenus)

I think this is right

A 51-foot ladder is leaning up against a building . The top of the ladder reaches the wall at a height of 50 feet . How far is t
kykrilka [37]
You would have a right triangle where the hypotenuse is 51. To figure out this problem we can use the Pythagorean theorem- a^2 + b^2 = c^2. so the equation should be 50^2+b^2=51^2

50^2+b^2=51^2
2500+b^2=2601
b^2=101
b=10.049875621121xx

(+2)-(+5)=
Is it okay if you explain how you got the answer? (I’m really bad in math lol)
erik [133]
The answer is -3. Now imagine a line of numbers from -4 to +4. Your first number in that line would be +2. From there you would be moving to the left since you're taking numbers away and in this case you're taking away +5. So when you're going on that line from +2 tho the left by +5 it gets you to -3. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say:D I also included the photo of that "line".

The product of 5 more than Jenny age and 8. use the variable j to represent Jenny age
nikdorinn [45]

(j+5)*8 is what you're looking for. The braces are important.

You could also write as 8j + 40.
