Slope is the rise and run of a point on the graph to the other
the y intercept is where a line crosses the y axis for example, (0,5) so 5 is the y intercept

(0,8), (1,10), (2, 12), (3, 14), (4, 16), (5, 18)

Answer with explanation:

The total cost for a large pizza is given by the equation:

                            C=2t+8

where t is the number of toppings.

Now, when t=0 we have:

         C=8

when t=1 we  have:

          C=10

when t=2 we have:

         C=12

when t=3 we have:

             C=14

when t=4 we have:

           C=16

when t=5 we have:

               C=18

i.e. the graph of this equation is the ordered pair:

  (0,8) , (1,10) , (2,12) , (3,14) , (4,16) and (5,18)

  • Now, the slope of this function means the cost of each topping.
  • and the y-intercept represents the cost of the pizza when there are no toppings.

How is the Pythagorean theorem related to the distance
formula?
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

The distance formula is a formalization of the Pythagorean Theorem using (x,y) . They are the same thing (but the distance formula is for working out the distance between two points and Pythagoras theorem is for working out the missing length in a right-angled triangle) in two different contexts.

In ΔSTU, the measure of ∠U=90°, the measure of ∠S=31°, and TU = 77 feet. Find the length of US to the nearest tenth of a foot.
Anton [14]

Answer:

US = 128.15 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

tan 31° = 77/US

0.6009 = 77/US

0.6009US = 77

US = 128.15 ft

8 (x+8) = 100 - 13x how do i solve this?
patriot [66]

Answer:

x=1.714285714 or x=1.71

Step-by-step explanation:

Distribute 8 to x and 8 (8x+64)

Get rid of -13x on the other side of the equation by doing +13x to both sides.

That should leave you with 21x+64=100.

Subtract 64 from both sides of the equation.

21x=36

Divide 21 from both sides which will leave you with the answer as a long decimal so round it.

x=1.71
