A benefit concert is being held at a nearby venue that charges $500 for rental of the space. Additionally, they are charging $5

per person who attends. The costs are to be split up between all of the attendees except there are 5 members of the family that the event is benefiting, so you do not want them to have to pay. How many people would need to attend in order for the ticket price to be $15?

8 is the answer. Because if you multiply 5 x 3, its 15, so that gives you the 15 dollar ticket price, and add the 5 that didnt need to pay, wich is 5 + 3 = 8.

Mr. Gardener invested $500,000. His annual interest was $40,000. What was the annual interest rate?
Mademuasel [1]

Answer: The annual interest rate r= 8%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The invested amount =  $500,000.

The annual interest = $40,000

The annual interest rate is given by :-

r=\frac{\text{interest}}{\text{invested amount}}\times100\\\\\Rightarrow\ r=\frac{40,000}{500,000}\times100\\\Rightarrow\ r=\frac{4}{50}\times100\\\\\Rightarrow\ r=8\%

Hence, the annual interest rate r= 8%
