The two insulated beakers shown contain equal amounts of identical liquids. The temperature of Beaker A is 85°C. The temperature

of Beaker B is 40°C. A metal rod connects the beakers. Five minutes later, the temperature of Beaker A is 75°C and the temperature of Beaker B is 50°C. What might the temperatures be after another five minutes have passed?

Passing an electric current through a sample of water (H2O) can cause the water to decompose into hydrogen gas (H2) and oxygen g
Andreas93 [3]
2H2O --> 2H2 + O2
The mole H2O:mole O2 ratio is 2:1
Now determine how many moles of O2 are in 50g: 50g × 1mol/32g = 1.56 moles O2
Since 1 mole of O2 was produced for every 2 moles of H2O, we need 2×O2moles = H2O moles
2×1.56 = 3.13 moles H2O
Finally, convert moles to grams for H2O:
3.13moles × 18g/mol = 56.28 g H2O
D) 56.28

Do you think there is a time when we will run out of fossil fuels to burn. why or why not?
Sedaia [141]

Yes, there will definitely be a time when we run out of fossil fuels to burn. It's often claimed that we have enough coal to last hundreds of years. But if we step up production to fill the gap left through depleting our oil and gas reserves, the coal deposits we know about will run out in 2088.

Conditions under which a reaction can be first order overall
viktelen [127]

A bimolecular reaction can be kinetically first order in behaviour provided one of the reactants is taken in such a large excess that its concentration may hardly change. Such a reactant will not contribute to the order. Thus, a bimolecular reaction will be of first order. These reactions are known as pseudo chemical reactions.
