Physics

Answer:

As the locomotion of organisms depends upon the interchange of kinetic and potential energy, animals that walk upright and have a higher centre of mass will be able to propel themselves higher compared to a shorter animal with each step. Physically, Energy can be written as1/2 mtotal ( ucm² + vcm² + wcm²)+1/2mi {u1-ucm)²+(v1-vcm)²+(w1-wcm)²} + mgh. Where ucm, vcm, wcm are the velocities of centre of mass of each portion.u1,w1,v1 are the velocities of different parts of body relative to COM

Hypothesis 2

Similarly, for the animals having lower centre of mass we can say that they will be better at climbing and traversing trees. An animal with low centre of mass will be able to get maximum traction with tree and it will be harder for it to lose its balance. Hence animals like leopard, sloth, gecko, Red panda etc. all showcase this lower centre of mass. These animals gravitational potential energy is minimum when all feet are on the ground and maximum when the body is raised high above

Their motion can be written in the form dr/dl = -r/2l where r can be written as radius of the torso of the animal. L is length of animals body.

Answer:

Rubber is an insulator.

Explanation:

Rubber is an insulator. Electricity will always travel "the path of least resistance." Rubber has a very high resistance, so electricity will go somewhere else to find ground.

If the period of a certain wave (wavelength = 4.5 m) is 2 seconds, what is the speed of the wave?
taurus [48]

Answer:

2.25m/s

Explanation:

wavelength=4.5m

period=2sec

frequency= 1/period

=1/2

speed= wavelength×wave frequency

=4.5×1/2

=2.25 m/s

Doug, who runs track for his high school, was challenged to a race by his younger brother, matt. Matt started running first, and
eduard

The speed of Matt is 10 mph.

Doug runs 2 miles an hour faster than Matt, so let Matt’s speed equal x miles per hour. Then Doug’s speed equals x + 2 miles per hour. Each lap is one-quarter of a mile, so Doug runs 1.5 miles in the time it takes Matt to run 1.25 miles.

Rate of Matt is x

Rate of Dough is (x + 2)

Time taken by Matt is 1.25/x

Time taken by Dough is 1.25/(x + 2)

Distance covered by Matt is 1.25

Distance covered by Dough is 1.5

Dough and Matt took the same amount of time from the time Doug started, so make an equation by setting the two times in the chart equal to each other, and then solve for x:

            \frac{1.5}{(x + 2)} = \frac{1.25}{x}

              1.5x = 1.25(x + 2)

              1.5x = 1.25x + 2.5

           0.25x = 2.5

                   x = 10

So Matt ran at 10 miles per hour.

Suppose that you are holding a pencil balanced on its point. If you release the pencil and it begins to fall, what will be the a
Naily [24]

Answer:

The angular acceleration of the pencil α = 17 rad·s⁻²

Explanation:

Using Newton's second angular law or torque to find angular acceleration, we get the following expressions:

    τ = I α                              (1)

    W r = I α                          (2)

The weight is that the pencil has is,

   sin 10 = r / (L/2)

   r = L/2(sin(10))

The shape of the pencil can be approximated to be a cylinder that rotates on one end and therefore its moment of inertia will be:

    I = 1/3 M L²

Thus,

   mg(L / 2)sin(10) = (1/3 m L²)(α)

   α(f) = 3/2(g) / Lsin(10)

   α  = 3/2(9.8) / 0.150sin(10)

   α  = 17 rad·s⁻²

Therefore, the angular acceleration of the pencil is 17 rad·s⁻²
