Answer:

D) 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Dilation : a type of transformation that makes the figure larger or smaller.

Scale factor : number or the conversion factor which is used to change the size of a figure without changing its shape.

Scale factor = dimensions of the new shape ÷ dimensions of the original shape

Given:

 • Length of new figure P'Q' = 3 units
 • Length of original figure PQ = 6 units

Therefore, scale factor = 3 ÷ 6 = 1/2

ratelena [41]

Jenna is correct because the square root of a rational number can still be irrational.

Take for example the square root of 2. It is an irrational number than goes 1.41421...

If you multiply just the first however many digits of the result by itself, you will never end up with a perfect 2, because the square root is irrational.

Use completing the square to solve x^2+6x=13
lara [203]

Answer:

x = -3 +/- square root(22)

Step-by-step explanation:

x = -b +/- square root(b^2 - 4ac) / 2a

ax^2 + bx + c = 0

these are both the quadratic formula but one is solved for the x and another for 0

a= 1

b= 6

c = -13

x= -6 +/- square root( 6^2 - 4(1)(13)) / 2(1)

x = -6 +/- sqrt( 36 + 52) / 2

x= -6 +/- sqrt (88) / 2

sqrt of 88 = 2 x sqrt (22)

divide 2 on each

x= -3 +/- sqrt (22)
