The win-to-loss ratio of 5:3 is a "part-to-part" ratio, so we can represent each part as a fraction of the whole. We can do this by simply adding 3 + 5 = 8 (the "whole") and dividing by that total. This gives us a ratio of Images, which means that the Bombers won Images of their games and lost Images of them. Since they played a total of 120 games, they won Images games and lost Images games.

we know the team has played a total of 24, and we know the wins : losses ratio is 5 : 3, so let's simply divide 24 by (5 + 3) and distribute accordingly.

\cfrac{wins}{losses}\implies \cfrac{~~5\cdot \frac{24}{5+3}~~}{3\cdot \frac{24}{5+3}}\implies \cfrac{~~ 5\cdot \frac{24}{8}~~}{3\cdot \frac{24}{8}}\implies \cfrac{5\cdot 3}{3\cdot 3}\implies \cfrac{\stackrel{\mathbb{WINS}}{15}}{9}

The half-life of radioactive cobalt is 5.27 years. Suppose that a nuclear accident has left the level of cobalt radiation in a c
sweet [91]

Answer:

  35 years

Step-by-step explanation:

The proportion p that remains after y years is ...

  p = (1/2)^(y/5.27)

In order for 1/100 to remain (the level decays from 100 times to 1 times), we have ...

  .01 = .5^(y/5.27)

  log(0.01) = y/5.27·log(0.5) . . . take logs

  y = 5.27·log(0.01)/log(0.5) ≈ 35.01 ≈ 35 . . . . years

2(y-4)+5=3(y+2) for y
brilliants [131]

2(y-4)+5=3(y+2)

multiply the first bracket by 2

(2)(y)=2y

(2)(-4)=-8

multiply the second bracket by 3

(3)(y)=3y

(3)(2)=6

2y-8+5=3y+6

2y-3=3y+6

move 3y to the other side

sign changes from +3y to -3y

2y-3y-3=3y-3y+6

-y-3=6

move -3 to the other side

-y-3+3=6+3

-y=9

multiply both sides by -1 to get +y

(-1)(-y)=9(-1)

Answer:

y=-9

the side of a triangle are in the extended ratio of 3:2:4 if the length of the shortest side is 6cm what is the length of the lo
Nat2105 [25]
In the ratio, the numbers are 2 for the shortest side, 3 for the middle sized side, and 4 for the longest side.

2 is to 6 cm as 4 is to x

2/6 = 4/x

2x = 4 * 6

2x = 24

x = 12

Answer: The longest side measures 12 cm.

A car rents for $40 per day plus 18¢ per mile. You are on a daily budge of $67. What mileage will allow you to stay within your
IrinaVladis [17]
Out of your $67 for the day, $40 of it goes to the rental before you even drive it out of the lot.  That leaves you $27 a day for mileage.

$27 / $0.18 per mile = <u>150 miles</u> per day, tops.
