Solve the equation by factoring.<br> 3z2 + 3z – 6 = 0<br> z = 3 or z = 2
lana66690 [7]

Answer:

<u>3</u><u>z</u><u>^2 + 3z - 6 </u>=0

3

3 (z^2 + z -2) = 0

3(z+2)(z - 1) = 0

z + 2-2 = 0 - 2

z = -2

z - 1 + 1 = 0 + 1

z = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

  1. factor out the GCF (3) and divide everything by it, and then set it equal to zero.
  2. since you have a degree of 2, factor it into two binomials that start with the square root of the first term and end with the square root of the second term.
  3. 3=0 is extraneous solution so we leave it, then we set each binomial equal to zero to solve for z.

note: your solutions is based on the degree or the exponent of the polynomial or the function.

Can someone help my find the fraction and explain how you got it please please
Harrizon [31]
The fraction is 1/3. on the input side, it’s going up by one, (6,7,8 etc) and on the output side it’s going up by 3. (18+3=21). if u were to double check 6/18 reduces to 1/3! so the answer is 1/3

What is the maximum number of possible extreme values for the function f(x)=x^4+x^3-7x^2-x+6
notka56 [123]

A 4th degree polynomial will have at most 3 extreme values. Since the degree is even, there will be one global extreme, with possible multiplicity. The remainder, if any, will be local extremes that may be coincident with each other and/or the global extreme.

(The number of extremes corresponds to the degree of the derivative, which is 1 less than the degree of the polynomial.)
