Following the equation and the stoichiometry of the reaction,  excess reactant.

<h3>What is excess reactant?</h3>

The excess reactant has to do with that reactant that is present in more amount than is required in the reaction.

In this case, we have the reaction; 2NBr3 + 3NaOH ---> N2 + 3NaBr + 3HOBr.

If 2 moles of NBr3  reacts with 3 moles of NaOH

x moles of NBr3   reacts with 48 moles of NaOH

x = 32 moles

Hence, NBr3 is the excess reactant.

Refer to the balanced equation. (PLEASE HELP QUICK)
kolezko [41]

Answer: C) 5.12\times 10^1 L Cl_2

Explanation: 8H_2S+8Cl_2\rightarrow S_8+16HCl

According to Avogadro's law, 1 mole of every gas occupies 22.4 Liters at STP.

Thus from the balanced chemical equation, 8 moles of hydrogen sulfide reacts with 8 moles of chlorine gas.

i.e 8 moles of hydrogen sulfide reacts with =8\times 22.4L=179.2L of chlorine gas.

2.28  moles of hydrogen sulfide reacts with =\frac{179.2}{8}\times 2.28=51.2L=5.12\times 10^1L of chlorine gas.
