Answer:

Another name for light is ¨Electromagnetic Radiation, luminous energy, and/or radiant energy.¨

Explanation:

Light is the electromagnetic radiation that´s capable of causing a visual sensation and has wavelengths from about 380 to about 780 nanometres. Electromagnetic radiation includes Radio Waves, Microwaves (used in microwaves), Infrared Radiation (heat), Visible Light (the colors we see), Ultraviolet (the UV radiation that causes sunburns), X-Rays (used in medical X-Rays), and Gamma Rays (which can be used to treat cancer). Light waves are transverse waves because they only travel east or west, but their crests and troughs face north and south (if desplayed on a coordinate grid). They wouldn´t be longitudinal waves because these waves don´t have vertical crests and troughs.

The Sun heats land and water, how is this related to wind and ocean currents?
Yuki888 [10]

Answer:

"The sun warms up parts of the oceans. Warm waters rise just like warm air rises. So, as the warmer ocean waters begin to rise in a particular area, the cooler ocean waters from a different area will move in to replace the warmer ocean waters, and this creates our ocean currents."

Why does sodium give up an electron?
lidiya [134]
Sodium (Na) has only one electron in its outer electron shell, as shown in Figure 1. Once again, gaining one electron is more energy efficient than losing seven. As a result, it appears to obtain an electron, resulting in an ion with 17 protons, 17 neutrons, and 18 electrons, and a net negative charge (–1).

20 POINTS! How many valence electrons does Iron (Fe) have? How do you know? - I believe it is 2 valence electrons, but I am not
AfilCa [17]

Answer:

Iron, or Fe, has 26 electrons, with two electrons in the outer valence shell. Iron is a transition metal and is both lustrous and easy to work with. Iron is also prone to rust, especially in damp environments. Iron is a ferrous metal, meaning that it can be magnetized.
